Yesterday I also went to satisfy curiosity, first to Cjajnik then via Učnik to Košutnikov Turn. Let me say, my toughest tour. On Cjajnik I had almost too short legs, on Koš. Turn too heavy. Descent not too difficult, only the one who put the bridge on climbing can calmly stand next to our Mr. Ekar (Aljažev Tower). Real mountain lovers ha ha. And the climbing harness I rejected so far seemed nice to me on Cjajnik. Who was up there knows why. L.p.

Hi, soon planning to go to Cjajnik, and Košutnikov Turn, so the tour everyone describes enthusiastically. Tell me, from Koschuta Haus over scree to Cjajnik, then descent and if I want to Košutnikov Turn, is path well marked, since I don't know these mountains yet, then finish at start, would like to make circular route to start. Thanks and Lp

Yes, one more thing, for setting navigation towards Košuta Haus tell me the place, is it Zell Pfarre or some other. Thanks again!!

On this page there is a very good description of the route to Cjajnik and further to Košutnikov turn. For navigation the place is Zell Pfarre, but there's already a right turn-off earlier to Koschuta haus (well marked). The road is gravel, no problems. Parking fee must be paid at the hut. At the top of Cjajnik you descend (if going on to Košutnikov turn) to the other side and then in the middle of the wall you see a junction - yellow signs, look for Lärchenscharte. After the end of the ferrata a steep path leads to the Košuta ridge. To Košutnikov turn there's still quite some walking, even though it looks very close. For a loop route, go back to the junction to Planina Dolga njiva, and continue until you spot the ÖTK Steig sign on the right. We had quite some trouble finding this path despite the map. Equip again with helmet and full set, recommend gloves too. Cross a bridge on the path. Fantastic experience. The last part of the ferrata is very crumbly and requires great caution. Then scree slope, forest walking and you reach Koschuta haus. Regards

Yesterday I was on Košutnikov turn via Cjajnik. The path is adrenaline-filled, well secured but few footholds so you really need to use your hands well, back via bridge-super. Lp

I envy you almost. Well, really nice tour. Well, if possible, if the weather is good, I'd like to go there second Saturday in October. Maybe someone joins me??

This tour tempts me for a long time too. Somehow I can't gather the courage and will.

This year it won't be my turn either. With some tours I postpone for years sometimes. But today at Cjajnik it was very lively and noisy. I watched the brave ones from above for a while as I crossed the Košuta ridge from Košutnikov turn to Škrbina. I have to admit it evokes real awe. When five years ago I climbed Košutnikov turn via the Austrian ferrata, I thought I wouldn't be drawn there too much anymore. Well things have changed a lot since then and today I'm already tempted a bit...

I prefer real climbing more than ferratas. True, you can do ferratas alone.
But more than the ferrata itself I'm worried how to get by car to Košutahaus - not used to driving abroad and finding the ferrata at all (bad experiences with Stol). OK, if I drove to Završnica for nothing no panic, but to Austria though.

Climbing tempts me too. Logical, at the top you breathe out and yell Yuhuu. For driving abroad I don't know what to say, since Slovenia by my papers is already abroad.. Well, if weather good and I don't go clean mom's chimney, I'll go to Cjajnik on Saturday the 10th, Sunday can't because we have cross-border hike with friends (no climbing, on Gorenjska hills, which would be right after such tour) So, if someone wants to join. Otherwise time for talk later..

finding "košutnhaus" is no problem at all, if you check a bit beforehand where you need to go, have a map with you, a bit of sense of orientation and new adventures.. really..

Me and my friend Marko tackled Cjajnik together on Sunday, September 27th. A little before 7am we set off from in front of Košuta house above the village of Sele, on the Austrian side of Košuta. To the entry into "Cjajnik" you go through the forest and climb a nasty scree slope, that part takes about an hour. Then into the wall, in full battle gear. Cjajnik right away shows it's not to be trifled with. Lots of willpower and especially arm strength needed for progress. At some spots you almost have to clip into thin air. Anyway, warning for good strong arms that carry the main load through the whole tour. Excellent route that doesn't end at the top of Cjajnik, you have to descend, which is also more than demanding. We continued to Košuta, along the ridge to Košutnikov turn and descended to Dolge Njive, where transport was waiting for us back to the start. Cjajnik tempts me a lot too, especially since I enjoy climbing so much. Two weeks ago I climbed Košutnikov turn, returned through the bridge, but I'm curious how much harder Cjajnik is, because after seeing your pics I want even more to climb this route.

I haven't tried the route to Košutnikov turn yet and can't judge. Surely the tour to Cjajnik is quite longer. But I talked to the Carinthians we met on top of Cjajnik. They said the climbing route to KT is quite less demanding. For the exact feel, you'll have to try it. Wish you safe steps.
