I gladly paid yesterday, since every year there's quite some new asphalt. At least you see they do something

Why always so much debate about these parking fees? Bohinj people have a problem giving those 10€ for the whole day, in Ljubljana 3€ per hour nobody minds. Then think how many costs arise with arranging roads, parking lots, that material needs to be brought to, for example, Blata.

On what basis do you claim that nobody complains about parking fees in Ljubljana? Of course the fact is that space in Ljubljana is definitely a more sought-after commodity than e.g. in Bohinj, so its charging is to some extent more justified. But still - browse some random web forums, and you'll see a mini million topics and questions about where in Ljubljana you can still park for free.

And where do you think the money from parking fees and tolls goes, into the private pockets of already wealthy people? The Vrata Valley road is state-owned and all drivers fund it with toll payment 1x/year at registration, but almost nothing of it goes to roads. Above Tolmin, Kobarid, Bovec, nowhere at the trailheads do they collect tolls, why does that surprise me. Planina Kuhinja, narrow asphalt road over 10km+ no toll, road rises 800m elevation difference zavijanje z očmi Planina Blato something similar and toll 10 euros. In Krma, Kot and on Vršič below the pass no parking fees.

In Pfelders-Plan 1624m in South Tyrol there was a barrier with free parking, if APP tenant then it also opens upon entering the code you get from the host. Post in the next days, since today I drove 365km with 6h drive + morning descent from Zwickauer Hüttenasmeh.
Parking before Pfelders - free!1
The parking lot is adorned by a beautiful village inn2

Austrians (and generally abroad) charge for the road only when there is really something up there to see, arranged parking with some catering or accommodation facilities, some real attraction, a trailhead for many hikes and goals,... And even that, of course, preferably no rather than yes.

But to charge for one Planina Blato, where there is nothing up there, not even arranged parking lots, not a decent rest area, let alone as arranged as, say, Grossglockner or Maltatal, to most alpine goals accessible from it one can get from other free or cheaper (Savica - 3 EUR/day) starting points... well, that doesn't even occur to Austrians.

But why? The reason is simple: no one would drive on such a road. Private, non-private, unarranged or super arranged... it doesn't matter. People drive there on the road to get somewhere, not because it feels nice to drive on a toll road (as if something arranged) and that they have supposedly contributed something to the local community, maintenance,... and similar bla bla velik nasmeh jezik

Van Sims said the essence. Bohinj folks and similar have become greedy some time ago, they rob guests or tourists at every parking lot. With their prices and generally poor offer, there are increasingly more destinations that are more interesting and competitive, here and with neighbors, so one just needs to decide.

I fully agree with Van Sims' excellent statement.
Namely, those real foreign tourist destinations don't think about money for a second, but rather how to best serve the guest in a spontaneous, natural and friendly way.
So today the hostess at Zwickauer Hütte just offered Germans a piece of strudel to taste, if they liked it, then they literally sold it out.
How much would Jaufen pass 2093m cost me today if it were located on Slovenian soil.
Also the elderly lady from Moos, whom I picked up along the way and drove to St. Leonhard (Toll please? - nothing - no need to thank!)nasmeh treated like a human being.

In all these years, regarding the quality of the road to Planina Blato, nothing has changed. The road is a real disaster and we pay expensive toll just to destroy our own car.

Isn't there asphalt now all the way to the Vogar - Planina Blato junction?

Road fully asphalted from barrier in Stara Fužina to junction for Planina Vogar. Only section to parking at Planina Blato is gravel.

I drove up there today before five in the morning and the collectors were still sleeping. On the parking lot I was alone and found one more spot. On the way back it was parked up to the junction for Vogar, and even lower.

Is the barrier down sometimes - closed when returning to Stara Fužina from the upper parking lot or is it always open?

With that much metal up there, the parking fee is still too low.

If you go at five in the morning they're not there yet, so you don't pay then. If you're unlucky they check payment tickets on return and you have to pay then. No excuse helps that you threw away the ticket. You must have the payment ticket visible in the car on the upper parking lot. They say the road toll rules in the municipal decree are clear. I know cases where they paid twice like that - lesson for the second time, even big anger doesn't help. I don't worry too much about it. If you take this route you have to be prepared for this cost.

As long as it's only a parking fee we have no reason to complain. There's the price list of Croatian Forests on the link. Page 7, article 11.

Vogar or Blato? Where is better to park or how far by car? Which path is more recommended to Planina pri Jezeru and further to the double lake?
