Dear Fides!
We, the patients, who pay a hefty monthly amount for mandatory and supplementary health insurance, we can turn a blind eye monthly to at least 80 and 100 or more Euros, and then dentists, gynecologists, urgent check-ups, examinations, we mainly pay you, employed in public healthcare for services in private healthcare, IT'S ENOUGH:
1) that you only care about your salaries,
2) that you never went on strike because:
- public institutions, hospitals and health facilities are each organized differently and therefore practically impossible to connect into a unified network and regulate;
- insurance companies have become the main dismantler of public healthcare and soon like in the USA we will have to pay for two or three additional insurances for a new medicine we need but our insurance doesn't cover;
- your colleagues, nurses, waitresses, cooks, cleaners are undervalued, underpaid and exhausted;
- money flows out of the system for projects that seem banal to a normally thinking person;
- infrastructure is from socialist times, poorly maintained and worn out;
- because we build hospitals with charitable contributions instead of on the basis of long-term strategy;
- because for patients with rare diseases we collect funds charitably instead of having a fund for them.
3) You do not demand that the work of a doctor in public be separated from work in the private sector, which is separated in developed European countries or there no one thinks of sleeping in public service and working for a private one.
4) You do not demand that private ones leave public spaces as tenants, since public healthcare needs more clinics and more space.
5) You do not demand that the existing infrastructure in public healthcare be fully utilized so that your patients have access to all check-ups.
We, the patients, IT'S ENOUGH that the Fides union does nothing to regulate conditions in healthcare, that the Medical Chamber is stronger than the Ministry of Health, that insurance companies are stronger than the Ministry of Health!
Dear Fides, what about your advocacy for more places in the medical study program? And that more of those not from medical families and without connections get into studies?! And your advocacy for more specializations for young doctors who, if not from the right clans, don't even get some specializations - so they don't spoil the great desire for profiteering?
All doctors who work hard in public healthcare instead of double-lifers and all nurses who instead of tired from private healthcare work do much more than what they are paid for, will be grateful if you once become a bit more "Hippocratic". Look around, in society we are tired of covid pretense that has brought healthcare to a situation where it behaves as if we don't pay it! Instead of Fides sharply pointing out healthcare problems upon the replacement of the deceased, it demands higher salaries. Shameful, undignified, unethical. O Tempora, o Mores!
