@Becar: Is it so hard to grasp that the longer we live the fewer of us die each year? 100, 200 years ago when life expectancy was shorter, mortality was also higher. With development of science, medicine, rise of living standards ... life expectancy increased and mortality decreased. As for the 'covid mafia' I wouldn't waste words, conspiracy theorists just can't be convinced anyway. And no, I by no means believe in the honesty of anyone, not media, not pharmaceutical industry ... let alone politicians. What you list are war profiteers and hangers-on who put their snout in every such thing. You mostly mention our scandals, which may or may not be true. I won't comment. Some probably are. But those are political scandals. OK, what about the world? I'll tell you. The real war profiteers aren't even remotely known to us. Media don't write about them. They write about political scandals, not real ones. Because they write for their parties and owners. Example? Mandatory wearing of FFP2 masks in Austria and Bavaria. When almost all experts unanimously claim they are no safer than surgical ones, even worse for bearded and narrow-faced people. Who do you think profited from their sales? Not just retailers, many in politics who helped push them as mandatory. But not in Austria and Germany!!! Yeah, right there people are screwed because they have high standards, that's why they don't go to streets or they do only because they can't have a beer in a pub! Media all under politics anyway. But hypocritically attack East European countries regarding media freedom. Profiteers among doctors. To be clear: doctors ARE mafia. I too have bad experiences with them. No matter how they try in this crisis, but it's the young ones, residents, nurses ... Some of them really burn out, the senior doctors who each have five, six jobs in private clinics, probably (many, not all) are scratching themselves. Still, I'm skeptical about such reports of huge salaries. Based on an example from our institution where I'm employed. 24ur published a year or two ago that someone here has full 16,000 something EUR salary. And not even on a leading position. What was really? The guy was illegally fired a year or two before. He sued them and won. That means they have to re-employ you and pay all back wages from the dismissal date. That's what ours did, with the first paycheck they paid all the sued back wages and it added up that much. If not, they'd get garnishment! But 24ur pompously published it as if he always had such salary. Do you think anyone apologized to us after our PR intervened? Allowed a correction? Ah, don't be ridiculous ... They are the most protected and most lying media in Slovenia. Only 20 nursing home residents out of vaccinated got infected. Bravo! Means the vaccine really works with that 90 something percent as Pfizer stated. That's very good for a vaccine. @tinky: no need to be a scientist, just a bit of common sense and salt in the head!
