An animal is an animal, whether bull, goat or dog; an encounter with any can be unpleasant. The difference is only that bulls and goats fit nicely into the mountain environment, a bit less puppies that Sunday "mountaineers" drag into the mountains. Sometimes someone on the forum rages about abandoned grazing pastures, on the other hand bulls ....

joža_x: Well, dogs are still OK to handle... Tear gas chases them away. Usually already the first spray. Even if you miss, some get scared just from the spray itself. A dog is usually smarter than its irresponsible owner...
Bulls, bears,... are already a worse thing. Luckily not as common as dogs...

Regarding us city hikers, maybe this: before almost every mountain dairy there's a sign for cottage cheese or cheese.
And how to avoid it, if the sign already tempts us to approach .
And if the herdsman has some "snake saliva" then we even more gladly take some.
Rekar, please write on which mountain pasture you graze your livestock, so we avoid it from afar.

Cows attacked a hiker
This morning, July 21, cows on the pasture along the path to Krnica attacked and injured a passing hiker, reports the republican information center. Rescuers from the Kranjska Gora rescue service provided her first aid, treated the wounds and transported her with an off-road vehicle to further care in Kranjska Gora and from there to surgery at the Jesenice hospital.

Recently above Mozirje hut on Golte, or under Boskovec I had an unpleasant adventure with cows and electric fences.
First we met cows at a 10 m distance, quietly and calmly went past them, then they "hunted us". One was especially persistent, as she went even over the electric fence, through dense spruce, over rocks.
Very, very unpleasant, because you don't know what will happen if she catches you.
In the end we hid so they went past us, we back on the path.
I believe it wouldn't have ended well.

Valuk@ and Geppo@, me too a while ago crawled through thicket and rocks above Mozirje hut (towards pass to Smrekovec), to just at the narrowest path section escape quite "aggressive" cows ; cheers

Curious animals. Bigger problem when a whole column lines up on some narrow path where you almost have to climb over them.
