Yesterday I visited Debela peč. The trail from Blejska koča to Debela peč is trodden and I met quite a few visitors. I wanted to continue to Lipanski vrh and Mrežc via Brda, but the trail wasn't trodden, so I returned the same way to Blejska koča.

Trodden. Snow soft, occasionally sinks a bit. Otherwise there was quite a "crowd" on Debela peč today. You just need gaiters.

Today I was on Debela peč. The trail is well trodden. Just below the summit it was quite windy, otherwise nice sunny weather.

The road with winter tires is nicely drivable to planina (Za)Javornik and to the monument (Pri Rupah). To Medvedova konte it's not drivable.

Today there was not a cloud on Debela Peč. Fantastic. At the starting point though -11°C, just below the summit summer, right at the top a light breeze. Let the pictures say the rest.

You made good use of the day, in the valley fog all day. Nice pictures.

Many people took advantage of this beautiful day today. I was up there too and I admit it was a real delight of pleasures and views. You had practically everything in the palm of your hand, below a sea of clouds. If only there were more such days. Pajo Patak pictures are very nice and maybe we met somewhere on the path.

Incredibly many visitors today on Debela peč, so much that meeting was really tedious. I retreated to Brdo and watched from a distance. There was a crowd overall today in the mountains, as it was a beautiful day in the mountains, real summer. Also: strongly recommend small crampons for descent (for ascent no panic), as it can happen that you slide on "that last one" , like me.

I myself slipped a bit twice on the rear side but no panic. Although I prefer going to mountains when less crowded but crowd and meetings can be peacefully survived with some patience. Because of that enjoy beautiful day like yesterday a bit longer which isn't so bad.

Yes, the path is quite slippery, so crampons would not be superfluous at certain spots, because it is icy here and there. Many had them on their feet.. Otherwise, you can manage without them. Today there was obviously less crowding at the summit, the weather was interesting, while it was lightly snowing in the valley. Pleasant. Successfully passed the test of Alpina Anapurna shoes too..

I was on Debela peč on Friday. Crampons came in handy at certain sections, especially when returning. Weather just right for the mountains.

Hi! Considering several options for this weekend (if the weather is still OK), starting from Radovljica, so I'm interested in which direction is best to go by car and how far you can drive/where to start then? I see that some of you were on Debela peč even in recent days, so is the path trodden? Crampons are desirable, but is it possible without them too?

Of course you can go without crampons. Just a bit more carefully in places.., otherwise nothing special. Starting point still the most known Planina Zajavornik or near the partisan monument. So: Mrzli studenec, right, then 10-15 min drive to the spot where you'll encounter a larger number of parked cars. (Elsewhere it's not plowed anyway.) Path goes right into the forest. You can't miss it. I recommend Debela peč more than Stol..

Is the path plowed to the monument?
