Today on Debela peč and Brdo. Road to parking at pl.Zajavornik drivable, but icy. Trail ahead trodden, morning still hard, later soft, but doesn't sink too much.

Debela peč isn't very interesting for mountaineers, for a classic hiker it's a very nice viewpoint and varied path, but for my 7.5-year-old daughter Debela peč is a milestone! First time in her life she stepped on a mountain herself (so far only hills to 1800m) and first time over 2000m nasmeh

We marked it a bit kitschily with posing + SLO flag velik nasmeh

(that's why exceptionally a portrait from the front on the pictures jezik

Otherwise the path is tip top, quite a few fresh markings, service at Blejska koča on level! Bravo girls mežikanje

Mrežce, Brda, Debela peč, Klečica, road to highest starting point drivable without issues. Snow higher up 10-15cm, from hikers the path was also icy. Beyond Mrežce tracks only from two hikers. At Debela peč I decide to go down the steep section and to Klečica, there back my own way to the start.

Nice Sunday trip through fresh snow from Zajavornik to Debela peč. Road to parking lot plowed and BP. No special features, conditions easy and undemanding. ca 15 cm fresh, track already made. In morning hours crampons recommended for steeper parts. Later, when it warms up, not even needed.

Summit windswept and grass dry for sitting with views and complete calm. nasmeh

It was warm up there. Lots of visitors.

Pokljuka peaks I've somewhat neglected in recent years, so this time I also visited Debela peč. I chose the main road as starting point and access via Javornik pasture. The continuation is classic and soon I was at the summit. Despite quite late hour, surprisingly I had the honor to freshly tread the windswept tracks from winds of previous days velik nasmeh

On the way back I met nearly a hundred hikers who were all rushing to the summit. Accordingly, the track became uncomfortable for walking, for snowshoes too narrow and too deep. No crampons needed, because the snow was mostly wet and they would hinder more than help. But in the summit plateau the path is routed under Okroglež and not over it as usual. Therefore there are some short icy sections, which can currently be crossed without problems. It is understandable that in winter conditions change quickly even without snowfall and one needs to be prepared for it.

I park next to the intersection, where there is the turn-off to Hotel Pokljuka, former Šport Hotel.

I prepare my winter gear and turn left onto the main road.

At the first junction I turn right in the direction of Planina Javornik.

It is still dark and cold, but the peaks are already turning to the sun.

The parking lot next to the pasture is cleared and full of cars on return.

I continue along the marked path. There are no tracks on the hunter's variant.

The track is made; I re-step the drifted-over tracks.

The summit is wind-blown bare, but lower down it sinks to the knees.

Debela peč, splendid viewpoint above Krma.

The view is magnificent in all directions. Here the Julijci are in the foreground.

Here the Karavanke with Kepa in the lead.

GPS track. Altogether 16 km and 900 elevation gain.

To the monument by car, winter tires only.

For the ascent I used crampons from the hut onwards, but I was early when it was still frozen. Today many hikers, so the path is packed. Snow hard, here and there a bit icy, avoidable.

Started as soon as dawn broke from Planina Zajavornik past the Blejska Hut to the Debela peč summit. In the morning it was nicely frozen, for the descent softness still in sight velik nasmeh
