Today I visited Debeli vrh, the weather was sunny all the time (as forecast for this end of Julijci). No snow on the path from Planina Laz. But I reached only the forepeak, as the southwest wind blew so strongly that it didn't feel safe to continue to the main summit; it was occasionally pushing me around and I'm not weak. On the path to Planina Krstenica below Lazovski preval there is still quite some frozen snow requiring considerable caution.

The view to the east was clear - of course from the solid shelter on the forepeak

Towards the end of the path it got cloudy everywhere

To avoid opening a new thread: on Friday from Blato over Laz to Koštrunovec and failed attempt on Mišelj vrh. Will return.
Fresh asphalt, gravel under Blato still about 200m. Debeli vrh, Vrh Hribaric, Škednjovec and Mišelj vrh and probably all other Bohinj peaks practically snow-free. But completely different (white) picture under Triglav. Here and there some debris in snake shape, total 2 chamois. Whole day no living soul (person) met. Some work in Laz, Krstenica dead. Helicopter intensively delivering supplies to Vodnik.
At turn-off to Koštrunovec avalanche-broken bushes blocking trail for about 8 meters, climbing over awkward. If someone willing: half-hour sawing by someone not bothered by TNP location would fix it.

I'm a bit curious, like the woman before, what happened that you didn't reach the summit of Mišelj vrh?
That avalanche rubble was there already last year, you can scramble over it.

Today to Debeli vrh. This time straight over the characteristic red scree on the east side.
No problems. But it was very cold, windy and later foggy first summer day, in places even ice stalactites hanging from walls eek

Full of flowers and some chamois, few people.

Not direct, because there's quite some rugged terrain in between. mežikanje

From the summit descend the west ridge to an incredibly shattered basin full of various karst forms. Reach the saddle east of Vršaki and then merrily left to 1., 2., 3. and 4.

You descend to the saddle between Debeli vrh and Vršaki along the right, western ridge.

You ascend to this saddle and on the left is already the 1st, most eastern peak of Vršaki.

along the ridge, first stay right under the ridge, then cross to the ledge or. in your case reverse because you plan Debeli vrh-Vršaki, I went Vogle-Kanjavec-Vršaki-Debeli vrh

Yesterday from Planina pri Jezeru behind Kopica to Hribarc, where I turned right under Vršaki. The direction to Debeli vrh is clear in good weather, some cairns too. Before the saddle on Debeli vrh I bypassed the last spur on the left side and then along the ridge to the summit. Easier path along the ledge a bit lower. Back to Planina v Lazu and Planina pri Jezeru. Nice detour from crowded paths to Triglav.

Aiming to climb Debeli vrh, today I started in the dark from planina Blato to pl. pri Jezeru, from there to pl. Laz and on towards Lazovski preval. During ascent to L. preval I noticed that I had missed the turn-off to Debeli vrh, so I tried to find "my" way to summit cool

When I reached about the height of Ogradov peak, clouds covered D. vrh. Being off-trail with fresh snow and no orientation, I descended to passage at Lazovski preval, then to Pl. Laz and back to Pl. Blato.
Weather no precip, morning clear, then variable and afternoon mostly clear.
Trail slippery throughout, from pl. pri Jezeru to pl. Laz locally muddy, from pl. Laz to Lazovski preval gradually with higher snow cover. At L.preval about 6 to 10 cm snow. Trail from pl. Laz back to pl. Blato similar as between pl. pri Jezeru and Laz.
Met larger group of hikers at pl. Laz, on descent to pl. Blato another 6. On return to parking lots of cars parked, found note on wiper (pic 19) mežikanje

Despite unconquered summit, nice autumn hike.

Yesterday from planina Blato via planina Laz to Debeli vrh. Return via planina Krstenica. Trail completely dry and full of autumn impressions.

I assume we met a bit below the summit, when you were already descending and we were ascending. Nice Sunday with beautiful views and panorama was in Fužinske planine nasmeh

Hi mukica and mito3000. Well I am the one who guarded the summit in the meantime nasmeh

for a solid hour.
I see you went directly down at the notch (pic 6), I went a couple meters more left on the narrow gully or chute (good 5m) to the top of the ridge, back from the notch very easily on the right little shelf to the red rocks. For info to others, there are more variants here...

Hi simon79....we returned via left variant to avoid the notch, down on purpose via it because I had a debt to it, years ago we turned at fore-summit because we didn't know the passage lower down, the notch seemed too demanding then nasmeh

Now I did this passage and lower passage is easy...stable step and that's it mežikanje

We also enjoyed more than an hour on panoramic summit, it was a perfect autumn day nasmeh
