Dobrovlje is a vast plateau and on its northern part on Čreta, above Črni graben rises the indistinct Završki vrh (828m), which was my exploration point today. From Nazarje I headed towards Črni graben. After almost six kilometers somewhere in the middle of the graben I turned far right and continued on partly difficult to difficult pathless terrain towards Završnik. After a short knee-grinder I stepped onto flatter ground, the last meadow before Završnik. Nice space with nice view. From there I went to the viewpoint with bench and took a breath. View opens to the Savinja part of KSA. From bench to summit another five minutes. At the top is a meadow that looks like an abandoned ski slope. From the top I go towards Kokarje, more to NW wanting to find passage between Završki vrh and the beehive, which is located on the NW side of the slope, road also passes by. For a while I walked on the logging trail, which was so churned by surveyors that I was almost whimpering where I'd run into one. I spoke aloud. I kept left and along the ridge came above the road. Steeply I descended to the beehive. Success. Further I found the old path leading left to Kokarje or right to Žiferje. My direction was Žiferje. I walked here twenty years ago and the terrain is so overgrown that the path to Žiferje practically no longer exists. On abandoned logging trails I descended quickly. In between I came across a wooden cross dating to 1901. I descend to Žiferje and circle back to start. Nice. 16km.

At this stone turn far right onto the ridge.

I didn't open a new topic, but the area reminded me more of Dobrovlje than Menina.
Today I walked the area pass Lipa-Smolnik-Predkovica-Medvedov hrib-Žlajfe-Srobotniška planina (names copied from map). I returned over Pleš-Slopi and past Jeseničnik back. Some pictures below, very remote places. The trip will be interesting for pathless lovers (sign - bear area), who like to observe living beings in nature. Takes us good three hours. Best, Andrej

It was already late afternoon, so I went to move my brains a bit. The area under Žlajfa on the last picture (24.3.) tempted me. Then I realized it's not a ridge, but several scattered rock towers divided by steep gullies and sharp precipitous walls. I explored most gullies and visited some viewpoints. For ascents and traversing to a greater extent more knowledge than I have is needed, and belay gear for descent. The last viewpoint continues into a continuous ridge to the top. In gullies and approaches caution is needed, as native inhabitants here are probably chamois. Many little paths are chamois-trodden but quite unstable for human feet. Old branches mostly stay in hands when seeking hold. The wilderness between towers captivated me. At the top I indulged in the view, then darkness and thought of the bear sign drove me back to civilization.

The approaches are chamois-like, the descents are of course harder.

On the S side of Dobrovlje ridge among many peaks is the 517m Juški vrh and since it's practically my regular, I decided to show it a bit. It's an unfrequented and lonely hill, uninteresting for crowds, but offers me plenty of beauty. Happy trails!

ales50 that's the Vrbovec castle at the confluence of the Drete and Savinja rivers in Nazarje. It's by the main road and most beautiful in summer with lush growth. Regards

Lots of work, so in the evening twice briefly to a part of the plateau unknown to me. Impressions - on the six some parts are already overgrown and poorly marked. Areas are lonely, you'll meet an animal before a human. A young roe deer scolded me for invading his area like no dog has for a long time. Even loud apology from my side didn't help nasmeh

Walked circles were logical to the current inspiration, so only a few pics that stayed in memory.

True, me too at least three times. I always head to Dobrovlje well oriented, visited most unmarked and marked peaks/areas, but still feel I know it only superficially. Combination of sinkholes, vast forests and waves, quick change of hidden meadows and low hills. And that feeling of solitude when you don't know if you'll meet anyone. And of course famous farms with dogs of a thousand characters - Končnik has e.g. a dangerous breed bitch but very well behaved.
Yes - also the view under Loška gora I discovered by chance. Curiosity drove me downhill along numerous paths too much to the left slope velik nasmeh

Thanks Zoran for the pic! True, this view at the bench is brilliant. Interesting was the strip of forest that wedges into the valley and you don't notice it from below on the roads. The valley then goes left to Gornji grad, right to Ljubno (logical velik nasmeh

Last year watched them from Smolnik, this year luckily escaped rain and sneaked around them - Štrukljeve peči. World of chamois, old paths and tough ridges. Did orientation loops around Krašica and barely beat the dark. Somewhere stepped into a tick nest and then swept off and washed about 20 from the skin mrk pogled

Exit from the overgrown little ridge. Difficult scrambling (depending on choice II-IV)

This prominent ridge (climbed from above behind the chamois and later up the right slopes also from below; the rest impassable for me)

Super andi2! Now I know what those cliffs are called. It's the westernmost part of Dobrovlje. In autumn when fewer ticks, if lucky, I'll venture to explore velik nasmeh

... Ridge really looks nice, though short, looks quite tricky.

Very nice view of the most prominent part of the cliffs! Nicely accessible for viewing from above and below (or path runs across the middle). This most visible ridge below is closed by high rocky walls. For mortal me I saw some quite awkward option on the left, but in evening didn't challenge it. Right goes nicely up the slope along the wall, but no passage to main system for my knowledge I found. So climbed directly up to viewpoint. For pathless hiker very nice forested ridgelet right of your pic's perspective. Due to high rock barriers enter again from side, then higher soon cross to center of action nasmeh

Today more stubborn than the weather and soaked in a four-hour afternoon wash on high speed. Checked three passes marked on the map to Krašica. Hard to say if I hit them (or if they exist in that form), especially orientation is tough. In the end, the best idea was mentally created orientation based on the map and combining logging trails, forest paths and chamois tracks. Still, over Mala peč fell into a system of forest sinkholes and luckily wriggled out with some past-acquired experiences. Yeah, Dobrovlje is not to be underestimated. lp

This afternoon we went with the kids on a pleasant walk from Lipa pass to Sv. Jošt on Dobrovlje. A pleasant breeze cooled us the whole way, trees provided shade. Met no one, just a friendly dog at Sv. Jošt, lots of butterflies and cyclamen. At the checkpoint there's a new stamp box. Sat for a good while on the bench at the forest edge enjoying the view. Beautiful spots. Returned the same way.

Today I first entered the world of Štrukljeve peči on the far west of Dobrovlje above Lipa pass. Steep passages, chamois trails, rock jumps and overgrown terrain offer lots of good exploration and calm the soul from the first step. First tackled the main ridge. Bypassed the ridge on the left and approached the summit from NW. From the top descended straight down the ridge looking for passages as far as possible. Managed to climb over half and then descend to the SW side of the ridge. Turn around once more and climb back to the ridge to see how it goes. Nice. Nice passage to the ridge, which offers some nice climbing grade I to II to the top, mostly I, about 30m. From the top this time descend pathless to the north, searching for the second sector of cliffs. Through overgrown forest up to an indistinct summit below which there's quite some rock. This is it. Descend from the top below the cliffs and inspect walls in the second sector. Good rock and holds invite. Find a comfortable variant and climb it. Really interesting world. Climbed difficulties I, some jump II, but you can find harder problems in this world too.
Descend searching for the trail towards start. Get a bit lost and look for passages back up. When back on the trail and to the main ridge, repeat the variant to the ridge and back and thus end the visit to this interesting and varied world. Lp

nice ones, because you can repeat them up and down multiple times in one tour. Very nice passage you discovered. Gotta go again to that beech tree, and also left of the bench to the next world nasmeh

Dobrovlje offers huge possibilities for escapades. Last time mushrooming above Žovnek and surprised again.
Saving Dobrovlje for late autumn, winter - ticks!!
how many did you pick, ticks of course, mushrooms I don't know right now!?
