A bit short, little one! mežikanje

This part takes you two hours to climb and circle the cliffs, roughly, stops included. First time maybe even more, gotta find the right entry to the ridge and orient properly. Can send you a pic. Careful if you go, first ridge super crumbly, check every rock multiple times mandatory, every hold, every step! Lots just piled up waiting for a nudge to roll down. Second part more compact.

This morning peacefully up Črni Graben to Destovška Chapel, over Grič 889m which now has stamp and logbox (no book yet). Then to Janez and Pavel bench. How nice here!
Back same way.

13.12.2021 Dobrovlje&Štrukljeve peči
Today Zoki showed me Štrukljeve peči and part of Dobrovlje. Start trampled cuz marked, then pathless (50-80cm south). Then animal trails, plowed bits, pathless, trampled, climbing cliff parts etc. Anyway, warm trampling, cold fingers climbing. Nice views despite no sun. Enjoying nature on our doorstep, just gotta appreciate it!

Today first time on Šunc, 821m peak on Dobrovljah. Passed under it and around many times, never summited. Gotta say it impressed me, views from the top stunning! Good energy! Will return to this wonderful spot!

at the viewpoint under Šunc today there was unfortunately no view due to saturated atmosphere

When returning, I noticed I was carrying it in my pocket, bravo me, just in case ;)

Žovnek Castle 11.11.2022 +7.5C
On St. Martin day walk to castle then to Hunters hut. Descent along neighboring ridge. Lake prepped for winter (partial drain), some water left in lower part. Many birds winter here. Spotted lone yellow mushroom en route. Nice autumn otherwise.

For the last outing of the year I chose Dobrovlje and hoped all week it would work out. It did!
Yesterday we talked with palčkomplezalčkom and I suggested he come our way for some enjoyable stuff and we already agreed.
We felt the warm rock of Štrukljevih peči, romped through the dark woods of Šentjoški vrh and sat on the bench at Sv. Jošt. Good year end! Thanks for the company, palček! nasmeh

We climb to the ridge on the left, shadier side, past the amphitheater.

Here an unpleasant surprise, despite the hard-to-reach terrain, with a dump of dirty natural beauty.

You two via Dobrovlje above Zadreška valley, us two via Dobrovlje above Žovnek.

2.1.2023 with son from Žovneško lake past Rizmala, "Hlasteja". To Strojašek we fell into numerous hunting ambushes (joint hunt LD Braslovče). Then up the forest logging trail steeply, to meadows below the chapel of St. John and Paul. Up to here in short sleeves. When we cross to the west side, the westerly almost sweeps us back. Below the chapel turn left on nice meadows and descend towards the depth in the forest. Here the wind doesn't reach us anymore. At the end of meadows into the forest and left on the trail as long as it goes. Then into the dark depth where water roars in storms. It's nicely passable and soon we reach the road and marked path. At the hunting hut above Žovnek, you can smell the grill and hunters are happily turning ćevapi and other goodies. We descend towards Žovnek castle, where gusts of westerly catch us again momentarily. After about two hours we are at the starting point.

28.3.2023 Parked at the sand depot for spreading.

Morning +3.5 C and strong NW wind in gusts.
Past Doma borcev and continue on the "new variant".
Previous one led through yards of farms Ramšak, Rovtnik. Now descend on road some 100m lower and if you miss the first left turn that cuts the bend you reach a bit lower a pole sign that takes you from asphalt road to marked path. In between additionally marked with orange spray. Then joins the old variant that takes you to the chapel of St. John and Paul.
Gmade 898m I skip, no view, been to the top several times.
Descend on green meadows below the chapel where there was about 5 cm snow yesterday - nice view!
Find forest logging trail and descend towards farm Strojanšek. Žovneško lake completely dry?
Just before the farm turn left and find forest trail leading to top Konjšek 793m. Partly on trail, partly off to the top. Continue along ridge to farm Jug and then further along ridge - Grohot 820m, Bezovec 857m.
After about 11km and 3h20min my path joins the morning one and in a few minutes at starting point.
Nice loop that goes through only one farmyard - Jug. The yard dog barks a bit but not annoying. Otherwise avoids all yards and Dobrovlje dogs that can be quite unpleasant as most are free-ranging velik nasmeh

No ticks noticed on pants.
Sunny and very windy.

If you miss it, one bend lower there's a pillar sign you can't miss.

Here lower down it joins the old variant. Pillar signs are mostly without inscriptions.

8.11.2023 Hlastejeva cave
Dobrovlje hides quite a few caves and sinkholes in its bowels. Most recorded are in the Cave Cadastre, probably some undiscovered ones could still be found.
I've heard about Hlastejeva cave many times, didn't go looking until this spring. Didn't find it.
Today I also needed some luck to find it. You descend into the cave on a ladder. The ladder is damp and slippery - caution!! If it breaks, you'll have trouble climbing back to the light. Over the first obstacle of wet, slippery rocks you have a wet and partially rotten prusik for help. I didn't proceed far as I was alone.
When I left the cave I found an old Dobrovlje path that once connected from farm Jug past Hlastej to Žovneško lake. At first I thought it was a hunting path. Then I learned from Jug's Oti that it was a former connection used by Dobrovlje residents. Now probably only hunters use it. I continued my hike from Jug to top Konjšek 793m and descended to farm Strojanšek on trails and some off-trail. From Strojanšek past Hunting hut to Žovnek castle. Here I found again an old half-abandoned path that brought me along the edge of Dobrovlje slopes to the Mlinar fish farm. From there only about 10 min to starting point and my almost 13 km hike ended. At starting point at 14:00 +12C.

Idea of course copied from Zlatko, we almost went together around New Year nasmeh

on nice passages and paths from Rak almost to Jug. But curiosity beat me anyway, so I stared at GPS for an hour and scratched, at the end much lower, finally found the cave. Nothing, back up to the sun again. To hunting hut below Bezovec, in opposite direction to marked around it, and by road to new fire station. A bit further I managed off-trail over beautiful and steep meadows to forest road/trail, which later breaks into the valley between Grmada and Konjšek to farm Strojanšek. A bit below farm I hit overgrown path that picturesquely brings me to road a bit below fish farm. In 5h almost no markings, satisfied nasmeh

Some tick (the small one) is found. In sunnier slopes snowdrops bloom, in shadier areas nice snow remains. best regards
