andi2 thanks! Still a lot hidden in this almost untouched world, where rock and forgotten paths are mostly touched only by animals and plants. Back soon. geppo in four hours didn't pick up any tick even though I crawled through over a meter high fern. Obviously chose a good day ....

Chapels on Dobrovlje 22.11.2020 Today I walked a wonderful circular path from Nazarje to Jošt and back. I wanted to capture all the chapels on Dobrovlje in the lens, which with their appearance give a special charm to the already colorful plateau. On the way I visited six chapels, two peaks (Šentjoški and Tolsti vrh) and four municipalities (Nazarje, Mozirje, Braslovče and Vransko). Yes, I admit I sinned. I walked about 38km and 1700m elevation. Phone battery gave up three kilometers before home, cold does its thing. Excellent and strenuous loop, hope to repeat it sometime. Take care

Nice Zoran! Did I understand correctly that you roughly circled Dobrovlje? Once I did half, and it's really long. Bravo! Regards

Thanks Andrej! You understood correctly. Loops around Dobrovlje can be long and strenuous. For an approximate picture I'm attaching a photo. Regards

Žovnek Castle is in fog in the morning. Along the marked path to the hunting hut. In front of us is the rocky peak, Grmada 828 m. Neither of us has stood on this peak yet, in a moment we decide to climb up. We go to the Strojanšek farm and onto the forest lane. We follow it for a few hundred meters and then directly along the ridge to the top. It's quite steep, but doable. The higher we go, the more snow patches there are. From the top we descend to the chapel of Sv. Janeza&Pavla. Here the westerly wind is quite strong. We descend for a while along the marked path, then again go our own way. Soon we close the circular path. For the last descent we choose the ridge opposite Žovnek Castle. regards

"bos": Regarding the path Sv. Jošt – Vransko…well, we two recently did a great loop, but the minus of that tour is exactly the descent from Sv. Jošt back to Vransko…markings a bit worse, but still doable, well then we already thought we missed it, since we came to the fence and no passage sign, but on the other side of the fence visible markings ?! We go left, shooting range sign, go back right, along the fence and higher to the meadow, and behind the house, over the fence, where first dogs barked at us, then a visibly angry man came out of the house and yelled at us too , saying it's private property, we're lucky the dogs aren't loose, no electricity in the fence,…hmmm, the more I showed markings on trees, on the meadow, the more the man claimed there's no path there and said the path goes along the road?!!...I called PD Vransko and they confirmed they have issues with the man and a couple of hikers already complained, but they're already looking for a new path…I hope soon, as it's really a shame you can't do a circular tour because of that, the road isn't that interesting anyway, although the last part runs along it…so be careful, or maybe cross the meadow somewhere off-path, hehe

Rozi Avoid dogs that show teeth, growl, as well as such dog owners. Walk where there are no markings, then you won't have problems or maybe still?

Similar with signs and marked path closure on the neighboring hill towards the hut at Čreta. When I asked last year, I got the reply that everyone knows about this situation and thus knows where the unmarked bypass goes. Well, I who was there first time, of course didn't know Dobrovlje is paradise for private owners and dogs that... That's why two pages back they already suggested the color scale with rating Mrcina's Medo, ala cartl at Sv. Jošt, is of course a bright exception, although the little one could swallow me with his gigantic appearance in one bite Nice trip Zlatko!

Dobrovlje from Lok pri Mozirju Through Ojstro peč, past crucifix, Brdovski vrh - the peak still written with small initial I think Sv. Urbana, Dom borcev Sv. Janeza&Pavla over unknown peak past Predovnik, Končnik into ravine to start. Altogether 5 hours walking and accumulated 16 km and 850 m. Morning frozen no mud, later muddy sections and strong northerly. Snow patches visible on Raduha. Nice circular with barking of four-legs accompaniment on certain known sections. At Predovnik now two. The small one spurs the bigger black one that commands respect. Luckily all stayed at respectful distance lp

After a long time a longtime friend, passionate climber, came visiting, so we used the time for a short trip over Štrukljeve peči. Weather was more moody but held up.
