Interesting. But no one writes anything about the big mud. I've been regularly visiting Donačka gora for 11 years, but such mud I haven't experienced yet. velik nasmeh

Well, yesterday I crossed Dobrovlje and there was really looots of mud due to logging track and tree cutting mrk pogled

, on Donačka today it wasn't anywhere near like that ....and I circled it. mežikanje

But on Friday everything will be different... velik nasmeh

No, on Donačka there is no tree cutting, no logging tracks ... so many hikers that they churn the mud like on logging tracks. mežikanje

Of course you can avoid mud by making shortcuts; that's how some started
on Sunday ...

Today with company visit to both peaks of Donačka.
Parked under the chapel of St. George and ascended the eastern path over the steel cables to the lower peak. Then over the higher peak to Rudi's hut for a beer and back to start past St. Donatus.
Quite some visitors today cool

We leave the hut and descend along the road to the branch for Sv. Donat

If you want to conquer the highest peak of Donačka, turn left right after ascending the cables. There's also a cache there.

Yesterday 26.12. to Donačka gora via old southern path from St. Donat chapel. The path is interesting and really attracted me so I'll go again but don't recommend for descent as lots of leaves on path and slippery plus short steep part in between where you need to scramble a bit. nasmeh

Today on Donačka gora. Park the car at St. Jurij church. Go past St. Donat to Rudi's hut and on to the top. Nice path, markings ok, huge crowd at the summit.

Somewhere I saw that the secured path to eastern summit was closed.

How's the path to Donačka via secured path, is it open and how about snow on the ridge from eastern to western summit?

This year also set up a little spruce on our mountain. Path muddy and a bit icy.

Today on Styrian Triglav as they call Donačka gora. Parked at St. Jurij, via fixed cables first to eastern summit, then to stone cross on western summit, descent past Rudijev dom which is open and past St. Donat church to start. On eastern path met only a group from Žetale. Eastern summit is quite "tight", we were alone, more space on western where there were more people. Path from Rudijev dom to western summit very very trodden - like Šmarna gora in Ljubljana. Sunny day, no distant views. Before cables some ice and frozen spots. Above Rudijev dom crocuses awakening. Full of them. nasmeh

The path is excellently marked throughout.

In the direction of the path with the triangle.

Passage to the southern side of the mountain.

Just a few steps and we are at the stamp

Then along the narrow rocky gully where pegs assist, to the last rocky slab

From here onwards it is no longer possible

In front of the stone cross there is also the Slovenian flag.

From the north, from Kupčinji Vrh direction, we climbed one trail, descended another..
Easy (except that bit of cable), short and sweet.. At Rudijev Dom fine Grah and Ričet, and Bučnica.
