Some yesterday's pics from the trip Žetale - Donačka gora - Rudijev dom - Brzika - Stoperce - Rudijev dom - Žetale.

The path is normally passable, but note two loose dogs on the section Stoperce - Rudijev dom, in the Kupčinji Vrh settlement (marked path here runs along the public road).
The dogs blocked my way and barked non-stop. After two minutes a lady came out of the nearby house and called them, of course they ignored her. The lady went back inside and came out with a gentleman. He called the dogs and they still didn't come, but at least they stopped barking so I could continue.
He added they do nothing. To my remark that because of owners like you many people fear dogs, he said "aw come on, they do nothing".

Because of such I almost always carry dog biscuits with me, but also spray (with which I aim to spray the owner if present).. jezen
Otherwise I spray around and behind me - it's so strong dogs don't follow me nasmeh

Yesterday we Četrkovci-retirees group of PD Škofja Loka did a tour to Donačka gora. Start was in the village Donačka gora itself. Hardest part somehow towards the end. Climbing part really short but demanding. And right to the top need to watch not to slip. All effort rewarded by wonderful view from top. Down pleasant path somehow to Rudijev dom - we were wonderfully served. From dom back to transport at Fire station. All together walked six hours. Nice weather. Beat the rain that threatened in evening.

The little church is called St. Donat.
At the hut they really try for good service.

On 2.12.2022 we continued the tradition and again set up a little spruce and nativity on top of Donačka gora.

From Kupčinji vrh across the meadow towards the depressions, on the meadow ca. 60 cm of southern snow, so snowshoes were the right choice. Towards the depressions two traverses very demanding, we crossed them singly, colleague without snowshoes was up to his ass in snownasmeh. We were first on the top, there were some attempts but all turned back, without snowshoes really tough.

Today from Kupčinji vrh across meadow then direct to summit. On forest road put on crampons and step into steep. From start sinking to knees, steeper, the less snow. After one and a half hours reached the top direct to tower. Conditions quite demanding, snow not well settled yet, tomorrow better as track is set.

Donačka, interesting in every time and weather. On Easter Sunday bad weather, even sleet on top, but nature is always beautiful. We visited the site of alpine edelweiss.
If Boč has pasqueflowers, Donačka has edelweiss.
There was a post about pasqueflower mentioning it's not doing well in this area for various reasons, including hikers trampling and digging it up... Last years less of that, as even guards are organized.
And so I heartily hope Donačka's edelweiss remain untouched.

Various paths lead to Donačka, one from Kupčinji vrh, yes, this mountain (smaller scale) is very crowded, but parking is the problem. Visitors park even on driveways to cottages.
You can park at private lot. Owner has put a box for voluntary contributions. Sad - only coppers in it.
I think here too needs organized paid parking, as parking on private land.
Latest adventure. Full parking lot, car blocks path to farm building.
Owner drives tractor to shed and very smart lady: "We are tourists here, you'll manage." Well, the owner didn't hear her.
That's it.

You can park lower at the water shrine too (just then walk extra 500 m eek).

That day my hiking route was like this, top of Donačka, hut, towards Boč, top of Boč and back to Kupčinji vrh, so those 500 m not much.nasmeh

29.11.2023 Donačka Mountain
"stankoju" invites me and Milan for a trip around Haloze.
Morning meet at his place on Ptujska Gora. With two cars to start point. I remember Majšperk, Nadole, then lost orientation in country roads. Up steep road to hill where he and wife renovated stone house (Dolena/Prekoše). Leave one car here, with other through tangled road network to Kupčinji vrh - park. In twenty minutes at Rudi's hut.
Descend road down and plunge into west ridge. Very steep pathless takes us to marked junction and pyramid on Donačka.
Along Donačka ridge again steep descent. Then next ridge: hill Resenik 735m. Overcome it too and again steep descent.
Continuation on macadam, asphalt, up, down (cca. 1000m ascent) and collect to start 15km in little less than six hours. For refreshment at start, now end, Stanko takes care.
Nice trip to unknown Haloze places for me. Crossed municipalities Žetale, Majšperk and Videm. Guides Stanko and beekeeper Jože.
On path mostly sunny, windy (SW wind), paths frozen and snowless.

The mushrooms were picked by beekeeper Vidovič, who found them himself anyway. He'll make something smart out of them, he's not from yesterdayvelik nasmeh

We went to Donačka gora from the arranged parking lot in Sveti Jurij, below the namesake church. We climbed via the eastern summit, then walked under the ridge to the western summit and descended past Rudi's hut back to the start, thus completing a wonderful circular path.

Today (05.12.2024) on Donačka gora or Styrian Triglav.
Up from Jurij via southern unofficial path, down via Frolich past the hut and through village Donačka Gora back to Jurij.
Donačka Gora is my most promising goal in eastern Slovenia.

Donačka gora seeking the sun, from foggy valleys from Žerak first to eastern and then western summit. All paths snow-free and mostly dry. Good luck on all paths in 2025.
