Great, then fleece and windbreaker will be ok for those few-hour snow hikes, thanks. If needed, I'll get some thin "down jacket" like from McKinley or some "budget" brand, they can be got on sale for 30-40eur too. If nothing else, it'll be good for breaks when windbreaker is not enough.

Hi, I couldn't find an open thread for ski touring or equipment. So I'll ask a few questions here.
I plan to get touring gear for easier tours (high mountains out). I have in mind Pohorje, Raduha and similar easier tours.
Especially I'll be glad for advice on skis, bindings and boots, which to get and skins of course. As an alpine skier I'm somewhere in the middle nasmeh
Thanks in advance for all advice nasmeh

Jure, I'm also more of a beginner when it comes to touring skiing, but I'm slowly learning how to ski down from top to bottom without falling nasmeh When I was buying gear three years ago, I was really lucky, it was before the season and I got everything quite discounted. But I bought everything new. First I bought boots that were reduced by more than 100 eur, took Dynafit ones, paid 320 eur for them, bindings are also Dynafit (Speed Radical), got them for 250 eur. Skis I took from Elan (Karakorum), and got matching skins there too. For both together I paid 200 eur. Given my skiing abilities, the gear suits me, no complaints. True, I'm not a demanding skier velik nasmeh More experienced advised to buy some used stuff for starters, but I decided otherwise, since I'll use this gear for quite some time.

Just not Dynafit bindings (and similar pin ones). Nothing but crap. For those few grams you save in weight, it's not worth it, neither in money nor comfort.

Samo, what's wrong with Dynafit bindings? I'm asking seriously. When I first borrowed skis for touring skiing, they had those bindings and they were OK for me, so I got the same ones. I can't even judge what the differences are with others, so I'm asking, what's their shortcoming?

I had them for two seasons, because after the first I didn't want to admit that I was wrong when I was so excited about the technological innovation.
Then I switched to classic ones and since then I enjoy skiing again, instead of struggling with discovering all the innovative quirks. (True, in later models they fixed at least two of those quirks.)
(Say, usability test for the binding: how easy is it to clip the ski back on after it comes off in half-meter-deep snow?)

I'm not exactly a super touring skier either, but I have a few seasons of skiing more in the mid-mountains and more spring skiing on settled snow than on fresh powder. I have Fritchie bindings and K2 Wayback skis. This combination is more versatile for various touring skiing and also suitable for riding on groomed slopes. I recommend that you visit the sites of various ski manufacturers where they have questionnaires about what wishes you have regarding skiing and offer you a selection of skis. Selection based on your weight/height, skiing knowledge, purpose of use, etc. There's quite a large selection and descriptions of gear on this link:
https://www.sport-conrad.com/en/ski-touring/
Gear selection has become a real science lately and some have different ski kits for different snow conditions. For the start, in my opinion, it's worth getting some general kit. The first touring skis that I got were too long and too narrow for me. They were OK for wide spring flanks. In fresh snow and where short turns were needed, I had problems. It is also true that I'm a fairly average skier and didn't have very great leg strength either. So in the end, it's worth for you to browse the web, even though at the beginning you feel even more confused and know even less what is OK, but in the end it crystallizes for you what you expect from your touring skiing at all. Maybe it's also worth renting some specific gear for a weekend and seeing how it suits you. Lots of joy in choosing.

I'll try these two and see if they're OK regarding price and quality. nasmeh

On the Decathlon site it says they have a satisfaction guarantee. Does that mean the product can be used for 30 days and then returned even if it has been used? If not satisfied, of course.

SamoK - I also used to have Fritchie bindings before, now I have Dynafit ones on pins and there's no comparison in comfort and lightness. If the bindings came off, you didn't have them fastened properly - when walking you have them locked, when skiing unlocked.

Otherwise, for an average recreational touring skier, slightly softer and a bit wider skis are suitable, and it's good if they're as light as possible so you don't tire yourself unnecessarily on the ascent. Modern skis are anyway made to ski super.

Bigger science is getting suitable boots, where you can really lose your nerves because nothing fits the shape of your foot....

Boots really aren't easy to choose. You have to take more time for trying them on than for shoes.
I'm satisfied with these.

Exactly, Klemen... as I wrote, everyone has to find out for themselves what suits them... you'll surely be satisfied with the jacket, just that I suggested a slightly warmer/thicker one, hunting brown color mežikanje, since you mentioned that price range... otherwise I dress similarly, so woolen shirt underneath (highly recommend), over thin fleece (just jacket style, with hood) or vest, on top the jacket...(with jacket also this, don't buy "tight", which the gentler sex lovesvelik nasmeh, but "loose")... I speculate you're more of a beginner (based on questions and "non"-experiences nasmeh)?... it's like this, in winter you never have too many clothes with you... because at the top I'm not made for "stop&go", but more for "pit stop" velik nasmeh, I often see people with too few clothes and I've already saved some by lending mežikanje...
...wish you lots of wear.nasmeh
