I'm wondering if the footpath to Golte is at all trodden in winter and where it starts from? Thanks for the info in advance!

The path is trodden, currently snow starts very high. It starts from the lower gondola station. Regards

Yesterday it was a really nice day on Mozirje plain and on Golte. Alpine skiers also got their share as slopes apparently still hold. The path is dry to cca 1000 m asl, from there to hut approx. 1/2 hour and then to hotel on Golte another 15 min. I recommend circular path on Mozirje plain, where highest peak Boskovec over 1500 m. Regards

Today a bit around Golte, over ski slope and first time in winter conditions. -10°C and wind, the real thing. Preparations for ski season in full swing, also some new facilities grown - real ones (wood stove - and "welcome"). Snowshoes rule, otherwise snow maybe still a bit too little, but gotta go. Road to alpine garden is super, just need proper tires. Winter is here - carpe diem.

Today's sunny winter idyll on Golte, where it's nice even if you don't ski

Today I took a walk around Golte specifically from the hotel all around the path back to Mozirska koča. On the path despite super weather I didn't meet anyone. There's quite some fresh fallen snow that sinks in deeply, but still it was fantastic. At the end chatted with the friendly hutkeeper at Mozirska koča and after good three hours of hiking returned to the valley. Really a pity you don't meet anyone on such a sunny nice day.

I would like to visit the Alpine garden on Golte. What is the road like to get there? Is it fully asphalted? Going for 2 days: 2 families, baby, kids, retirees.. Where to stay on Golte? Which hut is good? Where is there a discount on accommodation for PZ members? Thanks

antik Wide newly asphalted road leads to Golte. You drive to Alpine garden. hotel they are building http://www.hribi.net/trenutnerazmere.asp?slo=1&gorovjeid=3&id=2254 Mozirska koča remains where you get PZ discount. Don't know other stay options up here. Maybe JTrogar writes more, he's local and knows Golte conditions well. Regards

Correction to conditions desc by pavaonurmi 15.12.2009, though late but anyway: pics you attached are from Raduha not Golte. I know my "backyard" well. Best regards from under beautiful Mozirska planina, Janez.

Mozirska koča is five minutes away from A. garden. The offer is probably like in all huts. The keeper is friendly, call ahead and arrange. Regards

Today by bike to Golte to the hotel or rather the construction site. Some pictures of how the construction of the new hotel is progressing.
