Gradiška tura

Peter, Janez and I set off along the climbing Furlan path to Gradiška Tour. We took about an hour for the path, at the top the sun awaited us, but also some Vipava bora (in the valley it showed 57 km/h). Descent via the normal path. The climbing path is really nicely routed, we did belay ourselves of course, but tried to climb most of it without using cables and pegs, which turned out to be good training before the summer season in the mountains. Self-belaying for experienced hikers seems recommended to me, in my opinion, but if the exposure of the path bothers someone, which shows on two ridges, let them take the forest path, which is also marked. In short, wonderful morning tour with fantastic views from the Adriatic to Triglav. LP Andrej

How difficult is this path? E.g. compared to Šmarna gora or something similar. nasmeh

The path is much harder than the one to Šmarna gora. Especially this Furlan path is marked as very demanding. Self-belay kit and helmet recommended-depends on the individual. For the normal path I'd say it's easier. Comparison for Gradiška is Grmada via climbing path. If there's no problem with this path, I assume there won't be there either.
Good luck and stay safe

Afternoon also from Razdrto onwards to Vipava and then to Gradišče. Up the Furlan path to the top and descent via normal path. Very warm, like mid-spring, no wind, beautiful views. Cheers!

January 2nd perfect day to stretch stiff limbs. From Ljubljana fog I drive to Gradišče and up Furlan to the top.On the climbing path there was some frozen snow, quite some caution needed until exit to the easier path. Then from the top via shortcut over scree to St. Nicholas and that's the end of the nice trip.Attaching some photos

This week due to avalanche danger in high mountains I plan a trip to Gradiška tour. Hope it works. Can you self-belay everywhere with the kit?
Judging by these pics even the easier variant is somewhat exposed.
Is there any snow now?

Oh, yesterday I went over Gradiška Tour and Abram to Vojka hut on Nanos. Super tour, snow only between Abram and Vojka hut in the forest and at Vojka hut, otherwise all dry occasionally muddy. Gradiška Tour via climbing Furlan path is ideal now, real pleasure climbing up. Self-belaying also possible, especially if rock wet I definitely recommend it.

For this year I promised my son ascent to Triglav, so we've already started preparing for this big event of his. Together with dad we climbed from Gradišče via Furlan path to the top of Gradiška Tour, which proved right decision. On the way me and son took time for proper self-belaying, use of all necessary gear etc. At the top rewarded with calm and wonderful views all the way to Adriatic. Descent via other path, some caution doesn't hurt, as there's quite some loose scree, so some step can be a bit less stable. Recommend. LP Andrej

Yesterday I went to Gradiška Tour via climbing path, which is very nicely set up. I used self-belay kit and helmet. Nice views, despite slightly cloudy weather. From top of Gradiška Tour we continued via Čez Plaz. Trip ended with dip in Strunjan. Highly recommendnasmeh.

Gradiška tour is nicely routed path, in summer need to start early, as at top no pool to cool off. For descent the path down scree, a bit from top, also good variant, even without marks can't get lost.

Well, me and the little one were here again on Saturday, descended via longer path, over Plaz, which is slowly getting autumn colors. Well, picked some blackberries here and there for tasting. Bora helped the views, so clearer vista. Leaving you a pic, maybe for your curiosity..nasmeh
My little one climbs a bit too; they teach them in kindergarten, I suppose :-)1

Krašovc, all congratulations to your BIG little one. Obviously we're watching a future alpinist.
Keep going so bravely.

Yes, the little one is really diligent, walks calmly, persistently but has lots of joy. No need to pull him, he goes on his own. And on paths, he gets lots of praise, along the way I encourage him more. Well, yeah, he's my pride and my joy. .

Yesterday we headed to Gradiška Tour via Furlan path up and less demanding back. Although foggy (mist drizzling a bit), fog was mostly towards the top, path start all visible. Climbing section super, well marked and set up. Rock very good, holds no issue (wet rock), but watch footing as leaves and soil make soles slippery quick. After climbing be careful in forest to top (esp. descent). Full of leaves, damp ground, caution needed. Almost harder than climbing, very alert to stones under leaves. Otherwise despite bad weather excellent tour. Gradiška Tour velik nasmeh

Spetovar don't scare people cos it wasn't that bad. Was up at 15.30h bit of fog drifting that's all there was. If weather like that slips on leaves anyway good luckmežikanje

From the G. Tura summit, two nice options for a loop back to the start:
1. From the summit, marked path east. Immediately after the summit, a few steps, at the lowest point (saddle), turn right on a clearly visible little path through the gully between G. Tura and the rest of the range to the cross path, then turn right to the start.
2. Marked path east in about good 5 minutes to the pasture fence, where the path drops to the cross road (further to Abram). About halfway, turn left (well-trodden grass path - I think now marked too). This path takes us almost level to the chapel, where the track turns downhill to Vipava. Signs (always left) lead to the start.

BT88: Thanks for the warning, if it sounds like there's a problem getting up there. The path can be hiked very nicely, but a bit of care is needed because the leaves are really unpleasant, especially since you can't see if there's gravel below. zadrega

Well, maybe I said it a bit sourly, probably as a local, and therefore I deeply apologize mrk pogled For all those interested in descents and ascents on this coastal mountain, I can say that the Lipe-Plaz-Vipava variant is long, so I recommend for those in a hurry the descent from the top of Gr. Ture to the saddle at Borček where there is also a thermometer on the right and then steeply down the gully on a very trodden path cca 0.30h. Locals call it Vertical (unmarked). Nice hiking greeting.mežikanje

After a longer time we drive to Vipava Valley to Gradišče village. We intend to climb Gradiška Tour. The forecast is promising but clouds over before noon, luckily no wind. Climbing still pleasant, rock dry, compact, protections excellent.
Vipava Valley despite December shows little winter look.
