Today via JK to Pristava from Zastraže via eastern path: somewhat trampled, but quite a bit of snow, pretty cold (hat, gloves). On JK sunny, snow.. - real winter idyll, as if it were Dec. or Jan. This year's winter is really long. Otherwise it was a nice sunny, cold day.

Jelenkamen, Lenčkov Špik, then across the ridge and along the Ukova stream back...another day to make the most of. Good thing we have so many hills around Jesenice. They really lack height, but all very steep, so you really "sweat it out" before reaching the top. But there's more, you're alone the whole trail, only birds and rustling leaves for company, super. And Triglav visible almost everywhere, bye Majda

Yesterday I tested a new approach variant: via Čopov rovta to Kermanije ridge all the way to its top. Pathless, the ridge to top quite steep - hands required. I didn't go on to Jk, but right to (Špik), where especially in summer few views, only on bigger rock below summit (no time to find path). This ascent from gully to top also needed hands.

Some of today's sunshine could be caught a short while ago on Jelenkamen too. Apart from a few branches (I removed them) and one fallen tree on the connecting path: east - main viewpoint, there was no major devastation after yesterday's storm. A short hop up there fitted nicely.

Today at midday on the trail: bearable due to the cooldown. All the way to Pristava so far - no mushrooms.. (though I thought there would be) Though I go up there often and don't report every time, this time I want to say something again about dilemmas, trilemmas, polylemmas.. regarding namings: I mentioned an acquaintance from Zaštreka, who told me his opinion on the names, thinking of course that he is not misleading. And maybe it even holds at least partly true. I also talked to a few older locals.. The conclusion is simply that the opinions are quite varied and different. Regarding the name Hlevček, there is consensus that it is a flat area where mangers were placed, but it is not the only Hlevček. The same applies (applied) to the plain on the right side of Špornov graben near the top of Kozjak. Mangers were placed there too at one time. Regarding Mali Jelenkamen, the matter is such that unfortunately not even two opinions agree. The only thing clear to me is that Lado Brišar did not have in mind the mentioned rocky balcony by the path that crosses the south slope, as I examined it in detail months ago from bottom to top.., but unfortunately the rock is not suitable either, and accordingly I also did not find any traces of the >climbing kindergarten< he mentions, i.e. no piton, no steps etc. The latter can indeed be found right in the gully under Kozjakov zob above Javornik. It has a couple of rock jumps (upper approx. 4-5 m), and carved steps can also be found. Behind the tooth, an old piton is hidden, another is driven into its right side, which suggests that the gully and the wall were visited alpinistically at one time. Lately I quite often set off directly through the gully to Kozjak, but in the last days, due to the variety of crawling wildlife, I prefer not to linger.., so as not to accidentally grab someone by the neck Best, h

JK is now richer by a summit log box, or book. Given that some lower goals in the area have had it for a long time, it seems Jelenkamen has earned it... in the hope that it will stay in place as long as possible. Otherwise, the (east) path bp, weather (clear fine) - great. Afternoon trips to JK are often a real balm for the soul.

After a short virus, today first to the hill.. Up to Jk. Someone was so brave, they threw the book over the edge.. Congrats, hero! Praiseworthy deed indeed! For now it's in its place in the box, hope not just until the next bravery. When the sun shines it's still pleasant, hope warmer in the next days.. As often: lower goals and mid-hills are pleasant too.

Yesterday I visited (discovered) the >cave<, or rather trench about which acquaintances told me. It's some kind of shaft that drops less than 2m from the entrance, length about 10m. I suspect human origin, maybe attempt at ore digging in ironworks history. Still, occasional cave dwellers have settled in it. Even small stalactites are already >growing<. Interesting adventure.

Majdag, not just birds. 14 days ago in Polhograjcih a butterfly flew around me and snowdrops were blooming already, not mentioning teloh. Poor nature, waking too early. Good luck.

Hey, no primroses here yet. Haven't spotted crocuses anywhere, always checking if some flower peeked from ground, it'll come in time. Have fun Tisa, bye...
