Today my wife and I were on Jerebičje from Matka. We went up the middle path, which I hadn't walked since it was newly cleared. It's a real highway compared to pathless trails and hunting paths. On Jerebičje it was one real fairy tale. We were especially charmed by the white larches. We obviously arrived a bit after the clouds lifted and the sun hadn't done its job yet. Too bad we were a bit late, no time for more. On top of that I forgot the camera at home. We returned along the ridge enjoying 360° views. We spent some really fairy-tale hours.

Vito, without a camera, the pics are still quite decent.velik nasmeh In real life it was, though, I can't find the right words,cool. Real balm for soul and body.

From Perk to Pavličevo sedlo, over Pavličeve stene to Lesnikovo sedlo and to Jerebičje the path led us. To Lesnikovo sedlo pathless, then nice trail to beautiful viewpoint on the border. Continued below Matkova kopa, then guided by Styrian couple descent on demanding "middle path" to Matka. This middle path really isn't for everyone, demanding orientation, also technical.

Macesen1, pleasant was your company in the environment that is close to all our hearts. On these pathless trails we seek peace and solitude, then we realize that something is still missing. And that was our gathering around Matkova kope.
With my wife we greet you all nicely, especially Mrs. Marija, and hope we meet somewhere else!

dprapr, I'm increasingly retreating to the pathless world to show my group something new that isn't visible from marked paths. In these areas I still have quite a bit to explore, so I'll surely wander here again.

Thanks for the guidance on the middle path and revealing new secrets of Matk's corner!!
Without the pletenica it would be difficult.1

I also had to visit Matk's kingdom again. First because the sun abstinence level was already critical, then because JTrogar's pics are so tempting and because last week I viewed this bit of ridge from Matk's Kopa.

I started at Matk farm and first walked to Lesnikovo sedlo. Continued along the ridge to Jerebičje and on to Jevševec saddle (Matkovo sedlo). South of the saddle rise Matkov Grintovec and Jerševec. I climbed both from the path that from here leaves the ridge and wraps the slopes of Matk's Kopa. From Grintovec I checked the probable course of the descent path that starts at the abandoned Matk stable on the saddle. Picturesque path crosses Jerebičje slope, steeply descends through forest and at the end of the steep slope leaves me in a dilemma; right on narrow overgrown track or left into steep gully. I choose the latter. Descent into the gully is steep and rugged, partly icy, but crossing the gully easy. Then crossing steep forest slope ending in another small gully, then almost flat to track bringing me back to Matk farm. Not sure if this is the so-called upper path or what? Please all who know more about these paths for an answer, for help I'm attaching some details.

Overall again a fantastic circular tour with views I can easily rank among the best, certainly very special in KSA.

As I wrote last week already, if we seek peace and tranquility in the noisy pre-holiday days, we find it on the ridges of Matk's corner.
My wife and I started the tour today at the last bend before Matk. We climbed through forest (partly on road) to Lesnikovo sedlo. From there to the ridge and along the ridge to Jerebičje. The ridge is quite snowy so we sank in quite a bit. Views on this ridge are magnificent, especially on such a nice day as today.
As JTrogar mentioned above, on Jerebičje it's really one fairy tale!

Today's nice day was again a balm for the soul, and if the path leads through untouched nature, it's even nicer.
The road to Pavličevo sedlo is plowed, narrow, otherwise normally drivable (problem is lack of passing places). On the Austrian side a driving ban applies, yet the road is exemplarily cleared.
Due to the closure I left the car at customs and extended the tour by half an hour of walking on the empty road mežikanje.
Then on the snowy forest road where the snow held excellently and I already regretted dragging snowshoes along with all the gear. But it turned completely on our side. When I crossed Lesnikovo sedlo, snow conditions changed, and without snowshoes I would have sunk to my a....velik nasmeh. I ended the tour at the saddle below Jerebičje, as due to the large amount of unconsolidated and windblown snow the continuation seemed too risky. Views weren't any worse because of that, the day wonderfully utilized.

You can drive to Ž. Kaple, just below when you reach the road coming from Jezersko sometimes "gendarmes" wait for violators. Otherwise the road despite ban is usually well maintained and plowed.

Yesterday dry, in some places a bit muddy, in gullies still a couple of cm of snow. Views - such with half-snowy slopes of nearby and distant giants are of course the best. Except for ants no other moving living beings met.

Yesterday's nice weather again attracted huge crowds to Logarska dolina and mountains above it. We don't like crowds so on my wife's wish we went to Jerebičje which really deserves its name. Wonderful bilberries everywhere. Nicest for me under tall larches. Up we went along the ridge constantly enjoying views. Continued over Matkovo sedlo to Matkov Grintavec and then back on slightly different path.

Nice, nice Drago. To the left past your Matkov's tooth, (Marjana and Marko called it the prominent tooth in their album), I went to Matkova kopa and on to Krnička and Mrzla gora. You shot it very nicely. I hope Matkov zob is the right name and Janez Slapnik will confirm it too.
In the Kamniške today it was thundering and flashing, so, did the rain wet you on the return, like me on the cycling Katarina?

Nothing got us wet, we were early enough!
Until 12 o'clock the other peaks would have been suitable for ascent too, but we today, as I already mentioned, martinčked...
For Matkov zob, pity I didn't ask
Mr. Matko, whom we met up there and chatted a bit with.
