@sergej, @Jany, @greg83, @ZoranPeternelj - Thanks for the nice and encouraging opinion! Since @Jany mentioned the "kinship" of Slomnik and Kotečnik with Kamnik, I'm offering below a link to the video. It shows, besides the mentioned, also other "relatives", lined up almost in a straight line from Kozica in the west of the Savinja valley all the way to Rifnik near Šentjur in the east, and their common features. As a whole they represent a real sight worth admiring just in this time of year ... SOUTHERN WALL OF THE CELJE BASIN

Instead of the usual evening crossing of Kamnik S-J, a few days ago from Matk I turned left to see ivy masterpieces. On the way back though in sudden inspiration along quite exposed chamois passages on the north side to the ridge just before the summit. I agree with user Seinfeld, disturbed so many animals that I'll leave the untrampled parts of Kamnik alone from now on. Special habitat, surprising for such a small and relatively populated area.

On the path leading to the bench on Mali vrh the protections were in poor condition for a long time, so they were removed yesterday by the markers of PD Zabukovica. Nice regards and good luck!

Why removed? It's not a marked path under the care of PD Zabukovica. Actually it's a hunting path...

You know yourself that those protections are worn out and therefore dangerous. People constantly call PD to fix those cables already, so the management board decided at the meeting to take it down. If anything else interests you, turn to the club president.

Even if you removed the cable it doesn't mean people won't go there anymore. Definitely it would be better to repair it instead of removing. What does the club president have to do with it, I don't get it at all?

Of course they will walk... nobody expects they won't now Better no protections than damaged ones you can't rely on. Anyway they were just for "looking" as geppo wrote.

I also think it's better that way, "protections" removed. Let the path stay unmarked hunting one, a bit wild variant. Anyway you can climb nicely without protections. Marked and secured paths to the top are well maintained. But I don't like that someone down in the "pot" before the climbing part where several trees are fallen, smeared red arrows on trunks.

Today I went up the hunting path. After removing the shaky protections, the path is nice and pristine again. My humble opinion is that it's much safer this way. Back on the marked one.

Today I went with my son to see this "pristine path" to Kamnik. Luckily they left at least the pegs, otherwise it would have been quite difficult. We continued from the top of Kamnik to Mrzlica and then looped back to the car, which I parked at the Talci. Lp

Yeah, when starting at the red barrier, you continue through virgin green forest colours, refresh with pure spring water, muse on the bench with a view, admire three hearts (green Radenska ?) and spot chamois and fox in between, you're not sure if it's Covid, too many experienced mountaineering dreams or a live visit... Probably the municipal border supervisor, lacking photo material, will locate the date based on whether I used slings or not p.s. Jany - I agree, nicer and more prominent approach directly along the entire ridge. The second crossing always psychs me out the most, where there's quite a lot of air under the steps...

Kamnik Since they removed the safety gear (2019), I haven't wandered around here. Not because of the removed gear! Today my buddy and I went again after two years along the hunting path over the wall. I really didn't miss those frayed wires, you can lean on a peg casually. So I agree with them removing those wires. Still confirming what I wrote two years ago! Better without those frayed wires that were just for show. They weren't good for protection anyway. regards

Today I was at Bršljan's heart and for all interested in birds on Kamnik, I spotted a peregrine falcon in the cave at B.S.

Yesterday members of PD Zabukovica and the technical team of PD Grmada maintained the southern path to Kamnik. In the lower part we renewed the worn path, in the upper part the technical team installed safety gear at the most exposed spots. The difficulty hasn't changed, but ascent/descent is now safer. Best regards and happy trails!

Good job! What about the road to the start, are the works finished, can one drive up nicely? Thanks, regards
