Professionals say current 82-hour chainsaw beginners course by no means fits serious forest work. Needs, as they say, at least five years field work for sawyer to reach adequately satisfactory knowledge for tree felling. Others can just play in own garden.
I fell only smaller trees 20-30 diameter, mostly already fallen or hanging trees. Trees that have fallen and are still tensioned under forces, I avoid from afar. No need to play too much in things you're not grown up for, one way or another.

Most of those (non pros) who master it have enough work in own forest where they gained experience. Due to lack of such work experienced, even those who don't master it best grab the job. For that reason inexperience, speed, fatigue and improper equipment take toll. As long as state sets unreasonable deadlines till when it must be done, it will happen further and accidents present. When also those with less experience calmly with fear and respect for work start gaining experience, after forest cleaning on doorstep of professionalism. Old dads said practice makes master if it doesn't kill him first ! mrk pogled Unfortunately would gladly join but have whole "mess" at home in hosto mrk pogled

Fully agree with Matjaž explanation. Myself far from having felling mileage of average forester, but only last years chainsaw use felt correct position relation body legs saw and feel hand thru saw to tree. Also cut directions single trunks important, cut type per weight branch position, prior under sawing shortening larger branch so weight lost at max cut, then right feel cut near end wood cracks, faster circular cut radius log circumference to limit still possible, carefulness barberchairs hollow trunkscoolnasmehetc. Mileage only safeguard this demanding dangerous work.

Viharnik, don't force it in, let it crawl by itself, if it won't then maybe the new chain is bad or wrongly sharpened (it has happened already, more than once), here are some useful tips that can help you, especially pay attention to the angles of the chain teeth: http://www.zgs.si/fileadmin/zgs/main/img/PDF/zgibanke/Begus_ponatis/ZGS_zgibanka_-_Vzdrzevanje_zagalnih_delov_motorne_zage_-_za_tisk.pdf, because not all angles are for everything. nasmeh

Here, if Carlton can't work on chains, then I don't know who else could. The oak has fallen, but it's hung up on three beeches, if not more. Birches and walnut are like paper against oak. When I was sawing it, the chain was whining, cut zzzzzzeek. Hazel is stronger too, which has some yellow catkins in spring.

You didn't understand me. Different angles are used for different types of wood. I didn't mean that the chain in general is bad, but that it can have the wrong tooth angle for the hardness of oak. I personally use the universal 30° angle, because when clearing I have both conifers and deciduous trees ahead and it works best for me. I use Oregon chains. nasmeh

Aha, quite possible, otherwise it cuts well, of course for my renovated McCulloch 7-38 MAC (Husqvarna copy), which now has more torque and rarely stops anywhere unlike the old version. Chains are usually sharpened at 33°.nasmeh
