LG is right that such things get known, of course good and bad, although I don't support too much long spitting and pouring manure either, maybe it's enough to say it very briefly. cool

Kekec's homestead seems to really be in Trenta, Kekec's land in Kranjska Gora.wink

a bit off-topic

Filming locations

Gozd (small village in Tržič municipality)
Kranjska Gora (filmed at Bedančev end, where they shot most of the film)
Peričnik Waterfall (filmed right under the waterfall)
Mojstrana (scenically built village)
Sleme (scene shot with the song: "Good will is the best")
Church of St. Joseph, Ljubljana (former studio, gorge scene with stream shot)

That's how it is around here: one sets up a carousel, and everyone would turn sausages for it. That just doesn't work! So let everyone know: Lo Duka in Trenta, except the owners at Kekec's homestead, no one writes there. The homes of Kravanja, Zorč,... are there. They have a nice viewpoint further from Julijana and St. Ana's church, worth a visit. But they never cooked well in Trenta, it was always burnt, except polenta, dumplings with cottage cheese with tarragon and donuts with filling from dried pears. I tell you, in the only inn in Trenta, you'll have a hard time ordering the previously described goodies (you'll have to manage). And have a nice day further, there are still lots of nice views everywhere in Trenta nasmeh

The story continues. You arrive at this end of Trenta and see signs for Kekec's homestead!

OK, logical, there must be something to see about the film shooting. Yeah, when you get to the wooden fence, you notice a sign for the dog with a picture and inscription, here I am at homenasmeh Super, you really get a cute impression! Well, and when you get to the house, they have at least 8 large tables and the guests were all excited in front of the entrance to the inner space in the inn. It was quickly noticeable that it was one group that knows each other and soon they left too. You get the impression that there are actually no guests at all!
Of course, when you get to the homestead you also can't distinguish between newcomers and owners or waiters!
We go around a bit for 4 minutes just to see what the house looks like from other sides and quickly both so-called owners fly in to check a bit (they thought we would steal something)??
Of course that dog on the sign really exists, it was also very loud and annoying.
After a short tour of the surroundings we seemingly spotted the owners too, so we decided to drink or eat something.
In the sun we looked at the seating area a bit and in between looked at the pool. But lo and behold the devil, the lady owner started yelling at the guests what they are doing at the pool zmeden

OK, let's go to the table and before we order other guests come and ask if there's anything to eat? Yeah, actually we have nothing, except maybe some JOTA!!!
OK then we order drinks and when she brings them we quickly take a sandwich and nibble a bit! "there were no guests outside at that time and eight empty tables"

Oh, can I ask you how strange it would be to take out a sandwich in a Ljubljana inn and eat it!!

Oh mother, you just look and wonder!!

We would like to have one level!!

Yeah Kekec's homestead?? Why??

I didn't see menus anywhere, everything a bit homey.

Yeah you know they come and dip feet in the pool zmedenand we have to mow and maintain the surroundings and yeah you know it's PRIVATE!!!!

OK THEN WE GO AND IT NEVER OCCURS TO US TO COME NEARBY!

This is a tourist farm with an offering mainly for guests who come there for a vacation, not a Luna park where parents and children chase Pehta and Bedanc like they do in Kranjska Gora. They just gave a bit awkward name to their location and don't want to change it. Inform yourselves beforehand where you're heading, and you won't complain

My wife and I were wandering around those parts and of course happily went to check out this homestead too, memories of young years watching Kekec..... and experienced a cold shower. We only managed to drink a coffee, they didn't serve food because they have guests and couldn't offer us anything?! eekeek
Both owners kept giving the feeling that we were completely superfluous there, although they didn't chase us away.
We packed up as quickly as possible and had a snack in the hut at Soča....

We were without kids, no rowdiness, and money is no issue.... but more than obviously we weren't welcome and left disappointed. I feel sorry for parents and kids who come there full of joy and experience such unfriendliness. They won't see me again!

Cold shower, feeling that you're superfluous, strange experience. 3 years ago. We had a small child but we were calm, polite, their response incredibly cold. Goodbye sense, psyche. If they already have such a "system" let them write it on the sign before entry (instead of beware fierce dog), so they get rid of us in advance.

Last time I heard on the radio about a chain of restaurants known for waiters being extremely unfriendly. And they are always full because people go there already "out of curiosity".
They seem to have copied that strategy...and many up here still advertise for them mežikanje

Hello. I'm interested how it is this year 2021 with this Kekec's homestead, I read some comments here and it puts me off to book anything there for 1 week with 2 kids. So far we've been to Bovec, but after reading this I think we'll go elsewhere, is it different now?
thanks

The area around Bovec is large and offers a lot of interesting things. Why change the whole vacation because of one black spot on the map? nasmeh

Tourist farm of course, friendly to guests who are there for a week or two. But all the work in such business and friendliness of course tires (especially if you're not friendly at heart) so you have to recharge batteries a bit by venting on random guests. To attract them nice attractive sign on the main road. So that kids come too and there sure will be some reason for argument.

And no worries, to Austrians, Italians, Germans... they are friendly. I've experienced that at home e.g. in Gostilna Švab in Hrastovlje. Italians are first class there, Slovenes last. That's a peculiarity of Slovenes because abroad if it happens it's the opposite. You feel they are friendlier to locals (who are more likely to come again).

I assume the farm is doing well, coldness is indeed at home among the rich. While Croats and especially Italians are worth their money, especially with money matters, you rarely experience real coldness there. If at all then more nonchalance or that unfriendliness when someone got up on the wrong side.

In Austria and Germany (especially southern) sometimes just entering a shop or inn you get that cold look that puts you off everything. Somehow I feel it happens more with women but male staff can be cold too sometimes.

Now I know why Germans are such a serious nation and why I often notice some use that superior posture in communication with staff and almost shout at the person. With that they signal in advance no messing with them!

That they have guests and don't want to serve you... eee... that's Balkan habit. Experienced in almost nearby inn "Pod Mostom" in Žaga. "We have a wedding, you can only drink something." Unimaginable for developed Europe. There they sometimes (experienced) get up even in the middle of the night to serve a guest. Earnings first.

Anyway now really have to go there and see. Unfriendliness hits you hardest when unsuspectingly enjoying (which is a refined tactic of the one recharging batteries at your expense), but if you know about it you can prepare or take it into account. In the end at least you don't leave with bitter feeling. You knew after all!

VAnSims, you shouldn't be too surprised if someone looks at you sideways somewhere, because it's obvious from afar what a chauvinist you are.

Definitely confirm. The nature there is so beautiful that whatever you do, even the unfriendliest person cannot and must not spoil your holidays. You'll eat and drink anyway, even if someone is grumpy and unfriendly, just ignore them. Multiple times if needed velik nasmeh
