Well I'm chiming in again, waiting for someone to speak up and share opinion. Some have but all negative experiences, sad. Got feeling there's some campaign against them cuz can't believe everyone totally unhappy, dunno maybe something wrong with me? I'll go again for sure, if nothing to check how it'll be then, maybe catch their bad day too, good host shouldn't have but hosts are human too. Felt very nice and pleasant there, host very polite and friendly.

Don't bullshit, was there with gf recently, at kekec's homestead mind you.
Arrived, sat down, enjoyed view, ordered and ate jota, average jota nothing special. Anyway paid, jota 7 eur each, 1.5 eur drink, total 17 eur. Not small money today.

All fine, had little girl with us and sat bit ahead on grass peacefully enjoying view playing cards. No noise, bothered no one. Time passes, decide to go slowly, then lady approaches (prob boss? dunno works there) says time to shove off. Not said nicely.
In shock cuz first time chased away from anywhere esp after eating there.

Said we ate and paid before (thought she didn't see us and we just barged sat on grass) she says knows we've been here over 1.5 hrs watched us time to leave so guests have peace. WHAT? I DIDN'T COME IN DRUNK SIT AND MAKE NOISE.

Now regret not throwing table at her head or at least yelling properly but shock too big nasmeh

Anyway I'd say this. What kind of tourism Slovenes playing? Chasing away people who left money? Then whining guests bring food aside and leave too little in inns.. YEAH WHY WOULD ANYONE LEAVE TIP OR RETURN IF PRACTICALLY CHASED? Owners clearly don't get what FARM TOURISM is.

Also read on forum need to announce before? WHAT ANNOUNCE, DOORS OPEN SERVE FOOD DRINK. They should say when I enter oh private property need to ANNOUNCE and I'd turn leave. Not chase after cashing.

Owners totally nuts?
Anyway not going back even if offer all inclusive free whole week. Advise against to all I know, many won't go cuz of this. If positive or negative ad let kekcs at kekec homestead judge themselves..

Unbelievable... Trenta win, this homestead mega FAIL.

Yes, the worst is feeling just like a number even on vacation, money is secondary. In Austrian Vent in Ötztal valley it's different. Because everything is fully booked incl. huts the whole week, the local pension owner emailed me an affordable stay in Vent still available. He didn't think it OK to sleep rough. Very friendly, phone talk. LP nasmeh

I'm also enjoying here in Garmisch with friendly people. Accommodation in the city center, 50-100 m from the main promenade, single room with breakfast ingredients (just have to buy bread and make it myself) - 27 EUR which doesn't seem much to me for such a famous mountain center (compare with 20 EUR for shared bed at Planika if you don't have PZS card). Host friendly, advised on ascents I plan to do, on weather,...

I don't get something, if the owners don't want passing-by guests, why don't they put up signs that such guests are not welcome and only booked guests are? Why signposts from all directions, but when you get there they chase you away like the biggest criminal?

It's a pity about the bad will, such places or quasi-inns should be avoided from afar, bad reputation will spread far around by itself.

This topic is open for a couple of years, pointless.

Owners are obviously fine without occasional drop-ins because they rely on some regular guests who are satisfied with the offer and attitude and that's how it is.

Some Janez from Lj or Francelj from Mb will never be their regulars, very likely they'll be in Trenta again only in many years and who knows what then...

Man, better take your girl down to Soča and play cards with her in peace there, if you came all across the hen just for that zavijanje z očmi

We were also there on a family trip. We ate and drank something. Then they chased us away because we apparently sat on the grass too long. We won't go there anymore. Regards! nasmeh

The biggest problem here is that anyone can misuse the name! Trenta has nothing to do with Kekec!!! If (surprisingly!) the Lubljaners remember and film some shot around that house, that is by no means Kekec's homestead! It can only be a film homestead. If there's anything Kekec's, it's Kekec's land near Borovška vas, since the stories take place in those areas.
It would be nice if some institution would act and prevent misleading the public and misuse and tarnishing the name Kekec!

I was there, they were very friendly, we ordered only drinks. We stayed more than an hour, talked with the host all the time. Dear ones, you get what you give, kind word finds kind place. I'll definitely go there again and recommend to all friends.

Isn't it interesting, everyone spits on this homestead, only isantl has surprisingly good experiences. Looks like there really is something wrong with 99% of visitors velik nasmeh

P.S. My experiences are also very bad, they won't see me there anymore...

Mitja (owner) is a special person. Former alpinist who built a water reservoir on the hill with his own hands, carried material on his back, renovated the buildings with his own hands... He considers the whole thing as a luxury accommodation facility where guests should have privacy and peace. He has good occupancy. We were there once with three families for a few days and it was fine. They serve day guests, charge them well and at the same time complain how people come snooping and disturb their guests. I also think they should just remove all the signs that obviously invite people to these facilities. Probably the earnings from day guests are good too. As I said, he's a special guy, same as his partner. It was fine for us, but precisely because of this strange attitude and in my opinion obvious greed for profit, and also "pretend luxury", we just don't return there anymore. The location is certainly luxurious, fairy-tale like, the rest is just a guesthouse like you find elsewhere, with friendlier and less annoying caretakers.

I never claimed that there's something wrong with anyone who goes to Kekec's homestead and is not satisfied. That's the opinion of some or the majority, I don't care. We had a good time there, the owner was very friendly, correct. You don't have to go there if you don't want to, we were and we'll go again. Anyway, you have to know, what you sow, you reap, interpret it as you want. Have a good time nasmeh

I think you've gone a bit off track because the real Kekec's homestead is located near Kranjska Gora but unfortunately over the years it has been falling apart, demolished and rich people bought plots and built new modern houses there, I'll add some pictures. Otherwise, that you bother with such owners, caretakers because nowadays some are like that they can hardly wait for just a little spark to ignite then they get angry like a storm. Once we were in Tamar and that female caretaker got really angry, I didn't understand anything, she wasn't mad at me, but that doesn't matter, they can hardly wait for the spark to come, thanks for such unfriendliness to others who are not guilty of anything and want the best for everyone.
