Today, a trip to Kompotela from Kriška planina. Snow just right, from Planina Koren onwards visibility was worse (diffuse light). It started snowing, windy on top, but views still nice.

Today from Kriška pl. to Kompotela. Very nice path to pl. Koren, above hut snow very hard, my wife puts on spikes, I leave 12-tooth classic in backpack, no need for crampons. Views from top fantastic, Kompotela really nice peak for me, with one of the best views on KSA. We apparently the only ones on peaks above Krvavec. Great day, despite not great forecast, because of which we almost stayed home...

Yesterday ascent from Kriška planina to Kompotela and at junctions noticed turned signposts. Already at planina Koren signs twisted wrong way, further signs for Kompotela at junctions turned back to planina Koren. If first time in these mountains, properly confused, which we saw with some hikers and directed them right. Who enjoys this, as in fog it can end badly for someone.

On Planina Koren I had the feeling that they were twisted due to snow . But in April I ran into reversed signs already on Kriška planina, pointing back to the trailhead.

Today I headed only to Kompotela, as I usually do a circular route via Koren and Zvoh. Road to Jezerca is normally passable. Morning was still cold, sun first shone on me under Kriška planina. Track to Kompotela done with snowshoes (thanks Roman). I put them on at junction with path from Kamnik end. Morning still icy but crust breaking through. Still caution needed on exposed spots. From Planina Koren huge snow, all pines covered, choose path freely. Little wind snow, ascent possible without snowshoes too. After two hours walk reached summit. Took over an hour rest here, warm and no wind. Return sun showed power, March and nicest season leaving. When removed snowshoes sinking to knees. Under Kriška planina bit more on solid snow and tour done. Lp Miro

Today from Planina Jezerca past Planina Koren we first jumped to Košutna, continued to Mokrica and back to Kompotela. From there back to Planina Koren and to the car.
