Today on Košenjak, nice sunny, snow towards the top up to knees, also elsewhere enough for descent on skis (normal alpinke) to the mountain hut, which was closed in the morning, then on return open. To the mountain hut you can drive normally with the car with solid tires of course. ,

How much snow is left on Košenjak? How passable is the Kozjaški greben? Thanks

Today up there. Had to find a tour not so exposed to the north wind. From Dravograd up over Goriški vrh and back the same. Path well traceable, they also put two new benches along the path. Not too cold, just the north wind was blowing quite hard, especially on the clearings and less covered parts of the path so that it was dripping nicely from the nose, and hands freezing. Still, a nice tour to air out and maintain fitness.

Today we choose something easier for our three-year-old and go from the Košenjak Mountain Hut to the top.

@Tadej was this your first time on this path? If yes, interested in your assessment of how well the path is marked. Thanks. Best, Nino

For New Year's Eve and the beginning of the new year on Košenjak. From Dravograd over Goriški vrh to the top of Košenjak and back the same way. On the path there are some newly fallen trees that can be easily bypassed. The path is completely dry except for some small snowy sections on the very last ascent. Nice views and sun with a light wind.

From Labod we drove to the saddle, to the large parking lot. To Košenjak, marked 1 hour walk. The path was already quite well trodden, so we didn't need snowshoes. To burn some calories, we headed towards Urban. No one had walked the trail yet, snowshoes came in handy here. We always walked here in wet conditions, sometimes even at night. Depends on direction and hike length. (my longest single-push hiking trail so far KPP 67 h.). Also Zvoneta and I were caught by night after Pohorje, towards Košenjak and it accompanied us to Remšnik. Yesterday I told Romani that under such conditions, just to Maribor would take three days. At the car we realized we had walked quite a bit.
