After four years back to Košutnikov Turn. We went up the western, down the eastern path via Zgornja Dolga Njiva. Livestock not grazing yet, except some cows around the hut at Spodnja Dolga Njiva. Nice day. Clear, with pleasant breezes, yet on descent met only two people. No alpine choughs either, with which we always ate what we brought. But we enjoyed immensely anyway.

Thanks to the Dutch guys the day before yesterday (who missed the path and called rescue) for the idea. I remembered I hadn't been to Košutnikov Turn from the south yet. Up via south, down via eastern path. On south no winter gear needed, path actually nice, if you subtract fallen trees in lower part. Snow doesn't sink too much. By car up to about 700m before hut, where huge avalanche stops us, won't melt for a while. On eastern path I easily understood why the Dutch chose to go where they did (their tracks still visible). Eastern path under avalanche debris in many places, with steepness, mud and wet grass not too inviting. Winter gear essential. From their spot direct down seemed better option, couldn't see the drop below from there.
Caution: small avalanches started already at 9am. Upper part has big snow masses waiting to go down.

Today I was at Kofce, it doesn't look trodden. There's still quite some snow.

@michael66, in my opinion similar to the Turn. Whatever snow is left doesn't seem safe to me - on the slope. It slips easily. You need to go as early as possible.

Hi! Maybe someone knows what the conditions are on the Dolga Njiva - Košutnikov Turn path? Is there still a lot of snow on the path? LP, Miha

The day before yesterday we went circular from Lower Dolga Njiva to Turn, descended to Upper Dolga Njiva. Both paths have quite some fallen trees and debris. I personally have no issues with occasional gymnastic bits on the path, but given the concrete steepness and resulting possibility of a zeeeeeeeelooooo long slip due to terrain slope I don't doubt it's quite hard for someone. But you can see there's no real will for clearing, as obstacles on path are older date. PD that maintains the path - one big minus

No, probably luck accompanied you. On this path we met quite a few specimens. True, a few years ago, maybe they weren't more active yet. Here paradise for vipers. Lp!
