Yesterday to Slatna via gully between Slatna and Kreda. Weather gorgeous, in the gully still just enough snow so no need to scratch on rock... But up there quite a few deposits that will probably go down in such weather...

Planina Jezero-Dedno polje-Slatna/Kreda-First Vogel-Middle Vogel-Last Vogel-Zelnarica and back Via Za Kopico valley (conditions 7.6.2015)

Excellent beautiful and scenic tour, along ridges unmarked and nothing signposted, however orientation-wise, in good visibility, unproblematic crossing, all peaks over 2000m. Also descent (or ascent from Vratca pass between V.Zelnarica and Last Vogel) with a bit of ingenuity and sense for observation, not demanding and can be done on good passages without additional gear.
Thanks Sašo-tu for good idea of Sunday trip and Roku for all "navigation" of approaches.
More description on attached pictures. Described route is of course long, for full day wandering in these little visited mountains, for stamp collectors also info that on none of these Vogels there are boxes/stamps or logbooks.
With the abundance of signposts at Dedno polje you can get confused, head upwards towards the pass Vratca and Hribarice1
Less than half an hour walk above Dedno polje, when we spot Prvi Vogel, in the little valley leave the marked path2
Head right upwards, above the scree and below the wall find the start of our path3
On the path to the saddle between Prvi Vogel and Slatna, here and there a cairn, but the trail is not obvious4
Numerous group on Slatna, recommended a short descent to Kreda where it is even more scenic5
View across to Debeli vrh6
View from Slatna on Prvi Vogel and the easiest access to it7
View from Prvi Vogel back to Slatna and Kreda, ... and below to planina V Lazu8
On Srednji Vogel, almost level9
The path from Srednji to Zadnji Vogel is a little longer because there is an intermediate summit in between, but logically orientable10
At the top of Zadnji Vogel, view towards the hut on Prehodavci and the seventh and last lake below Vršak11
Descent from Zadnji Vogel to pass Vratca, the easiest downward passages must be found12
Hand-drawn descent (or ascent) from Zadnji Vogel, view from pass Vratca on the traversed path13
Pass Vratca between V. Zelnarica and Zadnji Voglom, direction signs and back on marked path14
At Mali Zelnarica, ... this year still little visitation15
View of Zadnji Vogel from Male Zelnarice16
View into valley 7J - to Ledvička lake from M. Zelnarice17
View back, behind Kopica it began to darken and prepare for rain18
... upon return, afternoon view towards the saddle between Prvi Voglom and Slatna and closed loop19

Are there any snow fields on the route that require ice axe and crampons?
How does the ridge Zelnarica - Tičarica look? A chimney?
Thanks, regards

time of our hike: from ca. 8:00 from parking before pl.Blato to 14:00 on last peak of Zelnarice, back around 3 hours of hiking;

nowhere on this route and ridges is there any snow, except some snow tongues in valley Za Kopico, where marked path Vratca - Dedno polje runs;

we weren't on Tičarice, because we descended from ridge to valley opposite Kopica, but continuation is similar, after all Tičarice are lower than Zelnarice.

Thanks to both Alyas and skali123 for the nice photos and description of this beautiful tour. Since I'm also heading on this path in the next few days, something else interests me if anyone knows: if going along the path from Zelnarice towards Tičarice, is it possible somewhere in between to descend off-path to the "Za Kopico" path, or is the slope too steep for such a thing? Thanks for the answer and safe steps to all! LP

I would also like to ask if there is somewhere on this path to Zelnarice a water spring to refill supplies, thanks

Descent from the ridge Zelnarice - Kopica - Tičarice is possible practically anywhere and doesn't cause serious obstacles, but the easiest passages are below Kopica hill into Za Kopico valley, there you can also find several small remnants of pathlets from previous season. The attached (borrowed) photo is a pretty good approximation of actual descent conditions.
However, there are no water springs from the trough at Dedno polje onwards, unfortunately.
There should be no problems on the descent even for the inexperienced, view from below Kopica into the valley where the marked path runs1

Many thanks for all the tips. Yesterday we did the path and extended it to Zelnarice. We did the descent by continuing from Zelnarice, where there's a stamp and very moldy summit book, towards Kopica, on the saddle then straight over scree to the path. Gorgeous tour. To the car with a short stop at Jezero, where it was surprisingly cold yesterday afternoon, we took just under 9 hours.

Today, 21.6., I climbed via Komarča to Črno jezero, then to planina Viševnik, then to Dedno polje. Then first towards Vratc and soon right off-path to Slatna/Kreda, First, Middle, Last Vogel.

From Vratc along the marked path back to Dedno polje, Planina Jezero and to Planina Blato.

The path is nice, all in flowers. On top of the Vogls a snow storm caught me. Judge for yourselves, is this snow from the previous or new season.

At Črno jezero some hikers were feeding the fish... I'm attaching an interesting link where it's emphasized again how important it is that people don't bring animals and plants where they never were, as that means significant change of natural environments.

Yesterday we four enthusiastic off-trail seekers crossed the mountains on the right side of the Za Kopico path, going from planina Dedno polje towards sedlo Vrata. These are Slatna, Kreda, First Vogel, Middle Vogel and Last Vogel. Sun had been promised to us. Unfortunately there was none. It was high overcast. The Last Vogel hid from us for a long time in the fog. It's an interesting crossing of five two-thousanders. We started relatively late at planina Blato. The parking before the planina and already along the road was completely jammed at half past eight in the morning. Somehow we managed to park and went past planina Pri Jezeru. Smoke was cheerfully rising from the hut chimney. We were glad that at least coffee would be waiting for us on the way back. In half an hour we were at planina Dedno polje, crossed it and took the marked path to the Pod Kopico path. Somehow after less than half an hour it was necessary at the scree to turn onto the unmarked path towards our first goal Slatna. The path is well traceable and after an hour on the left we spotted the grassy dome-shaped peak - Slatna. From Slatna we rushed down to our second grassy peak - Kreda. We climbed over some slightly awkward gully. On the return we saw that the pathlet bypasses that gully. Again it was nice grass. Then the first rest follows, then back to the proper crossing of the three Vogls. Here the grassy world ends. Rocky off-path of the endless alpine karst world begins. Here and there one can really spot a pathlet. The fairly frequent cairns better indicate the right path for us. In fog this crossing is impossible. Already to First Vogel at the junction of the path to Slatna and First Vogel one has to climb a bit right away. After scrambling the gravel path we were soon on top of First Vogel. It is marked by a somewhat larger pile of rocks. Then follows the crossing along the rocky ridge to Middle Vogel. In between we of course descend and then up again through this huge karst world to Middle Vogel. We met no hikers. Occasionally we spotted only chamois. Now follows quite a long scramble to the top of Last Vogel, which we quickly left because we were already in a hurry. The descent from Last Vogel to sedlo Vrata is already a real adrenaline adventure. We saw no pathlet anywhere and searched for the easiest passages steeply down. Only at the end of the descent did we notice a barely visible pathlet that should come from the top. A little below sedlo Vrata this descent ends. The view upwards to our last peak quite enchants us. Opposite, a group of hikers is descending from Velika Zelnarice. One also reaches this peak off-path. The marked path runs well below the summit. Happy that we made a nice crossing, we head to planina Pri Jezeru for a well-deserved coffee.

About half an hour's walk from Planina Dedno polje at this scree we leave the marked path to Kopica.2
On the left we can nicely see both Tičarice. The marked path takes us to the top of Mala Tičarica. To the left summit Velika Tičarica we go pathless.3
The path is well traceable.4

Due to the found wedding ring on Srednji Vogl, although the Vogls are often published, I also publish them for the second or third time on this portal. Why, it is evident from the introductory text of the album at the link below.

After sleeping at Prehodavci (previous day hiked Lepo Špičje), we headed in the morning towards Zadnji Vogl and onwards via Srednji Vogl to Prvi Vogl. Then descent towards the marked path to Kopica. Ascent from Vratca to Zadnji Vogl aided by cairns. When descending from Prvi Vogl great caution needed (slip risk). Nice tour for off-trail and silence lovers, offering beautiful views. Best regards

We're always glad to find another approach to Bohinj mountains we haven't done yet.
So yesterday we headed to Vogls.
Still in pitch dark we left the car at Planina Blato lower by the road, as it was already packed. We reached Planina Laz just as dawn broke. Continued to the western end of the pasture, where the path starts ascending to the saddle between Slatno and Prvi Vogl (V Razoru). Below the scree leading to the saddle we turned right into a steep valley that nicely brought us towards Vogls (somewhere between Srednji and Zadnji Vogl).
We always bypassed the unnamed neighbouring peak of Zadnji Vogl. This time we went to it too.
At Zadnji Vogl of course longer break. We wondered where all the hikers were given the morning crowd at Planina Blato.
Well, we met only one female hiker at Srednji Vogl.
Descent to saddle between Prvi Vogl and Slatno, then to Slatno and Krede. From Krede via shepherd path to Dedno polje.
Return to Planina Blato was a real flood of metal. Cars parked even a km lower from Vogar junction. Crazy.
Couldn't believe we met only two people the whole tour until Dedno polje.
