The path from Gozd to the summit is passable without issues, just a bit muddy in places.
Probably some snow will fall on Sunday. When do you plan to go up?

The path to Kriška gora is trodden soon after snowfall. So no need to worry about that.

I was on Kriška on Saturday from Gozd via the steep path and it was really nice. This path is not muddy like the one from the mountain shelter. Up top on the snow it's well trodden. If you look well you find the track. Enjoy, Esther

Yesterday early in the morning I set off on the steep path from Gozd towards the summit of Kriška gora. The path is dry below, in the middle part quite frozen, so small crampons would be useful. The summit part is well trampled, no problems. I continued along the ridge to Tolsti vrh. The track is made, no difficulties on the path, views were wonderful. Descent towards Velika Poljana and then to Gozd. Downhill the path wasn't too crowded, sun was doing its thing. About halfway to Gozd I crossed a released grassy avalanche, a few meters wide. WARNING!!! No snow on the avalanche, but icy crust. Mandatory crampons, ice axe. Be careful. LP Andrej

Nice greeting, can someone explain what the condition of the path to Kriška gora from the hut at Gozd via the direct path or over Tolsti vrh is like.
How much snow etc.

Just today I talked to a colleague who was yesterday on Kriška gora. To the hut it's dry (not sure, maybe some patch), further on there's still a lot of snow. He turned back after about 15 minutes trudging through rotten snow.

Also on Kriška gora today was a beautiful, sunny and relatively warm day, many visitors since the hut is open on Saturdays and Sundays. Small crampons are recommended on the path, as PD Križe warns with a sign at the start of the path.

I used the nice Sunday with my girls for the hike to Kriška gora. A lot of nice things are already written about this mountain, let me add that Kriška is really something special. Very very friendly staff, good food and nice views that's the reason we'll definitely return there. On the way back we walked part of the path with two very friendly hikers from Kranj, whom if they read this forum I greet especially nicely.

Kriška gora - first time today and nothing draws me back anymore, as this mountain is very crowded, lots of hikers, even today though not weekend, started in Gozd and then up the steep path, admit quite strenuous and icy. And at the top from the hut - closed, why don't they update data on PZS website ... .
Also shelter below in Gozd closed, yet so many hikers we met on return. Short, interesting and at the same time praiseworthy, as at top by hut we read list of hikers who very ... very often climb this mountain, champ in 2009 was on top 255 times, list still quite long, then I wonder - do they know only this mountain .
Maybe more luck another time when hut open.

Yes, that's how it is, every town has its house mountain :-) Don't recommend Šmarna gora either....

Today to Kriška gora, starting in Gozd through village and further on gentle path to hut. Path mostly dry, smoothed snow starts at cables. At top it was warm, just right hikers to occupy all benches before hut and we lingered long in warm autumn sun.

Today to Križka gora to visit best hostess Tonka. Morning cloudy, looked like rain, so today's goal appropriate. From parking in Tržič, past little church and on well marked forest path along ridge to Križka gora. Halfway fog, wind, rain drops appeared, but Tonka's warmth and hut on Križka gora warmed us right away. Excellent tea and lunch from handpicked ingredients was more than excellent.

Also on Kriška gora today as probably everywhere on higher spots heavenly beautiful. Sun and snow make nature fairy-tale. Too beautiful to last - coming week probably rainy - pity.

Nice trip and pictures. When I was younger and still living in Tržič I went to Kriška many times. Kriška will always be in my memory!
