Beautiful! I know this route well, but never yet in winter. How I envy you this trail-breaking in pristine fresh snow. It must have been great, despite the unconquered summit. Views too. Regards!

It really was nice, although quite strenuous.

Dragotov's trip suggestion wasn't bad at all, nor was yesterday's. At half past seven we set off from the parking lot before Roban and headed up the valley to the start of the little path leading to the partisan hospital. The path is nice and easy, but the fun ends there. The next eight hours brought enjoyment of steep wet soil and grass, smooth rocks, steep gorges, nice but short mushroom picking terrain, enjoyment of the bivouac, battle with brushwood... I couldn't have imagined that some hill that's not even a 2000er could serve up such variety and difficulty. Yes, it was demanding too. A section of the route, always in shade even in summer, offers a steep smooth slab about six meters long. Since it was wet and muddy with no holds, I wouldn't have made it without Dragotov's help. He climbs up cat-like (60 years), throws me the rope and I'm up with him. Luckily no more such spots and we progressed nicely to the top. Atop the wall it's like another world. Bright, hot, luckily mists appeared and brushwood, brushwood, brushwood. Luckily the goal wasn't far, and changing to long pants, I needed nearly an hour for under 200m battling brushwood to the summit. At the summit a friendly Trbovlje girl awaited us - the only living soul on the trip. Descent was long, mainly down one gully (Drago has the route memorized of course), back to Robanov kot we arrive much higher than we left it in the morning. Drago, thanks again for the crazy experience, I really enjoyed the steepness, wilderness, brushwood, gullies, that unique bivouac will stay in my mind till the end of my days.

As I already told Tone, nostalgia was the reason I still visit this unique bivouac under the Križevnik wall. Some fuss about where to park, if they'll even reach the parking spot and how much it costs and how far they can drive, while at Roban there's nice free parking. It's at the valley start, which is right. From there lots of options for anything. We headed to the bivouac, and since "I have it all in my little finger", I missed the right variant above the hospital and ended up on the wooded ridge before the big gully under the main wall. From there had to traverse left up through pines to the access gully for the bivouac. But good that we mushroomed on that variant. From bivouac on, long traverse left past underground cave and up Rescue route to ridge left of Križevnik summit. Yes, there Tone swapped shorts for long winter pants. Probably why he was less scratched than me. Definitely a day for the soul, and no back problems on Križevnik like the last 14 days.

Drago, this Savinja 'hill' drained my drive accumulators so much (no poles, brushwood) that I've been recharging till now. And tomorrow another nice day ahead... Girl from Križevnik, if you want the pic, I'll send by email. (private message)

Congrats guys. Lijaneja on pic 21 the Strelovec summit is right in the middle, right is Lucjan, Strelovec foresummit and NE ridge of Strelovec. On pic 40 I think it's really Žvižgovec, let Drago say Regards

I'm wondering if anyone hiked in Ravne or Podvežak mountains in recent days: are the larches glowing yet?

From Belšek along road/track to Belšekova pl., snow starts there. Gully clearly visible, first right beside it through forest, then into gully to plateau edge. In gully lots of windblown snow, under surface some real holes too. Above gully turn right through larch forest to ridge. Before ridge cross left to saddle and up windblown slope to summit. In forest 15 cm new snow on frozen base. Reached summit just in time, soon started clouding.

Nice tour you did!! Trip for good experts of this end. It's a shame that the beauty of Belšakova planina is so destroyed! regards
