Hello Suzana, very nice photos! Nice loop you made, but it's not quite clear to me where you started. Where is this quarry? Best regards Sabina

The quarry, or rather former quarry is on the Ajdovščina-Predmeja road, before the tunnels. As Enka already said, the Srednječavenska path starts above it, which crosses the slopes above the quarry from the start. Unfortunately I accidentally deleted the quarry photo, otherwise I would have posted it. On the hiking signs further on the Srednječavenska path, the starting point is marked as Quarry-tunnels. By the quarry there is also enough space for parking, to the actual path start it's just a few tens of meters. To the starting point at the quarry and from Gojač I had transport, otherwise I would have returned back to the quarry. From the Črniče-Ravne forest road you can rejoin the Srednječavenska path, even closer (and steeper) is directly via the Vrtovin/Gojače trail, which continues from the bend in picture 23.

Sincere thanks to all three, now the picture of the path start is completely clear!

Today we went on a hike to Kucelj with the Savski planinci. We had Veliki Rob planned, but bad weather forced us to go only to Kucelj and descend from there. It was a short tour, but very beautiful due to the abundance of mountain flowers from narcissi to marmots and auricula.

I inform all hikers that the path from the Čavnu hut to Kuclj is almost impassable due to fallen trees.

Today I wanted to get from Mala Gora to the Čavnu hut with my wife but it was also all impassable there due to fallen trees. We persisted about half an hour, then turned back.

Hello, Yesterday my wife and I did a tour along the Srednječavenska to the Čavnu hut, then to Kucelj and Veliki Rob. The path from the Čavnu hut towards Kuclj is really like a "military polygon" but all those fallen trees can be bypassed with some slalom maneuvering and pushing through branches. From Kuclj towards Veliki Rob you have only 5-6 fallen trees, so that path is much easier than the one from the hut towards Kuclj. Nice mountaineering greeting!

On Monday from Vrtovina to Kuclj. The path below was very muddy, towards the top idyll, which I waited for since Saturday, when despite the nice forecast it just wouldn't be proper weather. And although the valley was already bathing in sun in the afternoon, I caught it on Kuclj only on descent, just before sunset. No more sense about conditions, coming 3 days with snowing and strong bora, by Saturday it'll all be different...

On the way from Stomaž to A. Bavčer hut on Čavn I spontaneously decided to go also to Kucelj, which I hadn't visited yet. And I must admit it's a fantastically beautiful peak!! If you're already wandering around Čavn, go to Kucelj, the path is gorgeous, views phenomenal! A couple of weeks ago I went from the hut to Modrasovci, which are completely uninteresting peaks. Because then I didn't know about Kucelj. Also the path across the Mali gora plateau is very nice. Some snapshots from the path: http://potovanja-tamara.blogspot.com/2015/04/gremo-v-hribe-potep-po-cavnu-iz-stomaza.html

Was anyone up there over the weekend - are the paths snow-free?
