Yesterday, 19.5.22, via Jačke to Mangart saddle. Path without peculiarities and currently excellently traceable. Recommend visit before it turns into a hard-to-pass jungle. Descent towards Mangartska planina. Road dry a bit further past last tunnel. Footpath above road normally passable.

thanks Lojze, interesting, many times wondered about condition of this path as looked at map, do you know if possible from Strmec along drawn track (on Tabacco 019 map) to Lukež and Ganza to avoid part of main road and next forest road?

I don't know which path exactly you mean, as I don't have the Tabacco No. 19 map, but by names probably this one marked. These are all maintained and marked paths.

On Saturday 21.5. I found gloves under Mali Rateški Mangart... turne S size.
Someone forgot them by path.

Nooo, how is it now with that road to the Saddle? Have they already rerouted it past the landslide, or are they still pointlessly negotiating despite all today's technology and mechanization? zmedenjezikcoolzavijanje z očmi

Nooo, the road to the saddle is snowy from the last tunnel onwards. They will clear it next weekvelik nasmeh

On the last day of October, cycling ascent to Mangart Saddle.

The weather forecast was excellent, temperatures just right and without much hesitation I decided for the cycling ascent on our highest road.
Conditions for cycling were excellent. Pleasantly warm, only above the last tunnel did the wind start blowing. I was surprised by the massive visit of cars and motorcycles. Obviously nice and warm weather had awakened tourists again. Almost like summer; parking spots along the road were already running out... zavijanje z očmi
This road is most beautiful to me just in October, when all the colorfulness of nature along it comes to the fore. From bend to bend the views are always nicer. Although this time the larches were already merrily shedding their golden-yellow decoration, nature still enchanted. nasmeh

The idea was something else, but in the end I ended up in these parts. Towards Mangart I went to the junction, turned around and to Male Špice. Saw one black snake, it was completely calm. Road closed to traffic, except.

Today retirees of DU Medvode visited the Educational Trail to Mangart Saddle. It has two starting points. We decided to start at the parking lot before the last tunnel. The path leads along a marked mountain trail past the Mangart Hut. Then it leads us along the former traffic road, which is closed to traffic. Somewhere towards the top it directs us to the saddle, where the trail ends and offers beautiful views of Mangart itself and far around. The boards teach us about alpine flora, about fauna and much more. It's worth stopping at them and reading the content. Today there was no sun. The air was calm, the views wonderful. At this time a large herd of sheep is grazing here.
We decide to start before the last tunnel.1

Sheep grazing. Interesting - many of them are completely black. More ewes will lamb.12
For some time it goes along the road, then directional signs lead us to the groomed path.13

The path is wonderfully made. Walking on paths created by hikers and now buried is disabled.15
In front of the mighty Mangart backdrop we take a firefighters' group photo. Only I am missing. Driver Boštjan went to Mangart via the Slovenian route - up and down.16

Mighty Mangart - from here up leads the Slovenian secured path and the easier Italian one.20

The road is officially closed, barriers down, just enough new snow for the first ski run. Due to the large amount of new snow and avalanches, it didn't go beyond the first chains, but the day was divine.
