Missing stamps on summits and huts

The question arises how the stamp on Vogl was mounted. But I don't believe someone could steal all SPP stamps. Some are really concreted into houses, fortresses (Tinjan, Socerb), then there are those with thick curved stainless steel rods concreted into the rock etc... There's certainly a lot of vandalism in the mountains too. Maybe within PZS it wouldn't be bad to make some standards for installing these poles, because with a little effort you could make them "forever".

Stamps are a problem at several locations, also on Gradišče or Velika planina the inscription is illegible, last fall there was a concreted stamp torn off on Mali Draški vrh and attached next to it.. with a small shift it probably flew into the valley... A year ago it wasn't on Špik, then mountaineers from the homeland come up and one comments that they were selling the stamp at the flea market in Belgrade, even stamped it there...nasmeh and more like that zavijanje z očmi

It's also true that even if you install it forever in some rock, someone will come along and "grind off" the stamp. So the problem really isn't simple.

And what drives those vandals to such actions?

Becar, I wrote that for the second story I wouldn't put my hand in the fire, but the first one is quite credible.

And another one from Mangart...a colleague was herding sheep up there 3 years ago. And one day she and another shepherd caught a tourist trying to remove a bell from the sheep. When they "held him" and searched his backpack (of course against his will), there were already 2 bells inside. If you don't believe me, I can tell you there's a police report about it too mežikanje
Why steal such things? My mind doesn't reach that far to understand...the Belgian tourist claimed "come on, it`s souvenir"

MANGART STAMP

You can't see how big this stone is in the picture. But if it were built into the rock... well that would really be sick to carry a hammer and chisel with you on purpose... zmeden Because one thing is to pick up and steal or destroy something, another is to bring tools on purpose. We agree that without tools you can't steal such a stamp, right.

Maybe Jedrilicar heard something about these "tavern" collections of stamps from the Slovenian mountain traverse and I invite him to join the chat.

@Becar: sorry, I don't know. The southernmost mountain I've been to in Croatia is Zavižan, and I don't collect stamps, and this stamp issue doesn't interest me at all. Although, with us everything is possible, especially in Dalmatia, so I know nothing about these tavern traverses, and I wouldn't bet my hand that it's not true ...

Jedrilicar thanks for the reply. Like I said, I'd believe that somewhere there are individual stolen stamps, but I wouldn't believe someone has a complete SPP, because some are practically impossible to steal. But someone could make plaster casts and then copies of stamps. nasmeh That would be more likely. I can't imagine either how someone could unnoticed tear out cemented hooks, because it's not like nobody would catch you at least once.

On Bovški Grintavec there was a torn out stamp with hook on top lying for about a year, or maybe still lies, it was posted on forums, but I convinced myself too. No one competent has fixed it back. And no one has taken it away for a looong time.

If you mean Bavški Grintavec, then not only has it been torn off for a long time, it's also unusablemežikanjezavijanje z očmi, which seems more important to me...zavijanje z očmi

There's a problem with stamps, I've simply made peace with it and don't look for them anymore. Maybe I'll stamp again when stamps are everywhere and in accessible places, so they're available at any time regardless of day, night and winter. Now they have them in huts that aren't open 24 hours a day. To some responsible people it doesn't matter, stamps are or aren't (some really gave up installing them). We walked the E-6 in Slovenia and looked for stamps. Some buildings that should have a stamp according to the description haven't existed for years (demolished). On the E-6 through Austria, it wasn't much better, good that in other countries presence doesn't need to be proven with stamps. Then we walked the peaks of friendship, here too half the stamps are missing. I could list more. If we're doing stamping, let stamps be in places accessible 24 hours and all year round.

Since I (for quite some years) no longer "chase" stamps, hiking and mountaineering has become even more enjoyable for me. Actually I gave up because so often something didn't match with stamps (if nothing else I forgot the booklet at home many times, hehe). cool

With me it's a bit different. I hiked 20 years without getting a single stamp, now I decided to do SPP and extended SPP say in two years "muck". When that's done, again without stamping further mežikanje. And I admit, only stubbornness pulls me to complete the stamps in the booklet and then I'll be FREE again. velik nasmeh

Personally it annoys me the most if the stamp is worn, smudged, illegible and then you think it would be better to just stick a photo in.

Becar, for SPP a photo or "testimony of PZS official" also counts mežikanje

I know I know, I have all the pictures too, but for us collectors a fuller booklet gives more thrill right mežikanje

Which hills with starting points Mače or Preddvor have a stamp at the summit and which don't? We didn't find it on Potoška gora (or maybe I didn't look well enough)?

Best to address the question to Pd Preddvor
