As I've mentioned several times, when it's a soul day, I go to Matkov kot. Actually I had no particular goal, it just drew me back to that end again. I went up towards Škaf, which is already nicely formed. Unfortunately there's not much of it, but it has everything it has when it's big. The snow on top was soft, suitable for easy walking. Only once the rumbling somewhere above confused me a bit. From Škaf I continued to Latvica, which always enchants me. Something special is up there, especially when it's white. Snow unfortunately melts quickly. Considerably less than last year at this time.
At the top I fixed the cross with stones, which I found fallen in December. Also the logbook and the box lid I found on the slope and put them in place. The book is very battered and wet, no pen.
Since I wanted some more scrambling, I went along the ridge to Krnička gora. In between I dealt with three soft snow patches and very crumbly terrain. You can tell it's spring and not cleared yet. From Krnička gora I descended the ridge to the saddle above Matkova krnica and hurried down through the krnica. And then along the lower path to the valley...

Only those couloirs are still partially snowy. And of course under Latvica entirely!

Below the summit still a small snow patch.

Yes, if this were a shower, it would be welcome.

Has anyone climbed from Okrešelj up recently? Any info on conditions?

Yesterday I did an excellent circular tour, starting in Matkov kot, to Škaf, followed by ascent to the summit of Mrzla gora and then descent towards Okrešelj and excellent hitchhike (thanks to Peter and Ana for the ride) directly to my car. Wonderful hot day with beautiful views. From Škaf direction there are some snow patches to cross, but not too hard. Otherwise a great measure of caution is needed, both to the summit and then to Okrešelj, where there are no more snow traces. I recommend the tour, but only for experienced mountaineers.

We used the annual memorial ceremony to visit the mountains above Okrešelj. At the fork in Mrzlo dol, Mojca with colleague extended to Ledinski vrh, I with Jože to Mrzla gora. The path is completely dry, Mrzla gora as always adrenaline-pumping, only the summit and other peaks were in clouds. More in photos.

Actually topic for 2 mountains. From Logarska to Mrzla gora. No special features. Then to Križ. Snow on Križ no problem and only just below the summit on the first part of the secured path when above Logarska. Aids ok. Back through Tirski zleb. Also no special features there. Excellent weather for such a tour. A and J

On the path from Matkov kot to the summit the pegs for securing the cables are pulled out at three spots. Passage not obstructed. Otherwise very nice weather till evening, nice views. At eight thunderstorm. Path is quite wild mežikanje

Due to the heat, which up top wasn't there at all (!?), today we visited nearby peaks. With brother we chose "this cold and nearby neighbor from abroad".

And interesting descent to the other side.

We continue towards the forepeak of Mrzli vrh.

We choose a crumbly approach to Mrzli vrh.

Today I also chose Mrzla gora. Chose an earlier hour due to heat. On path today met only nice folks and we chatted nicely. Drago, we two missed each other: you down that side, I in "climbing section" by the wall.... Actually first planned through Hudi prask but changed mind. Will sometime in August when on vacation.
