I waited a long time and kept postponing to head to this prominent mountain. Majestic rocky beauty. On Sunday, last day of September, 30.9., it was the right time. Weather perfectly nice and I was ready for ascent; mainly mentally, since I felt great respect and fear towards the mountain. Already on the drive to Logarska dolina my heart was racing. On the top of the mountain though.... what can I say. The whole path is interesting, scenic, exposed, requires care in steps and climbing. But with high alpine experience and brains the mountain is accessible. For me it's no longer MrZLA mountain, but the most alluring and beautiful mountain in KSA. It got under my skin and completely won me over, enchanted me, especially because of the approach. Too many aids would take away its charm. There were ten of us on top, it was such a beautiful day, and it was first time for all. On descent when there are more people even more caution and thought is needed. Anyway, the mountain is gorgeous. Now I know where to flee from the crazy world.

Yesterday a little ridge in Pekel cave inspired me for today's tour. And forecasters recommended mountains for today.
As someone mentioned, the road to the end of Logarska is icy, same as the path to Okrešelj. But without crampons if you're not too old, ha ha.
Real snow, whatever there is, starts above Okrešelj. Had a nice track right to the first gap. Thanks to those who went there these days.
I have to say, conditions for this time are good, really enjoyed it. Weather was as forecasted. If the hills to the south were lower, maybe I would have enjoyed more sun.
Cross on top still stands, has extras. View down to Latvica, as always, fascinating. Matkova kopa upper part again almost bare.
Down with more caution. Would like to go up there again sometime.
Another day for the soul!

Tone, there was frozen snow in between too, especially in steep parts. In that gully, right after the spring, on the north side, there always is.
I deliberately went later so the snow in the sun had already softened. I started just before 9.

I was tempted last time to come down here, but the car was unfortunately in Logarska. To have to cross the ridge below again, there was no will. Up it was probably quite strenuous trudging? Better in spring when everything is nicely snow-covered and hard.
In the summit part it was probably snow-covered right past the spring up the gully.
5th picture is super and the tour of course too.

I was on 14.6. via Mrzli vrh to Mrzla gora. I descended via the marked path back towards Okrešelj.
If you're interested in winter gear, you don't need it, as the path is completely dry.
