And why would one "have to" celebrate New Year's Eve in the mountains or anywhere else in your opinion, when they have such salty prices. Some take extra advantage one way or another to go up there and get drunk and we have to watch that There's nothing better than celebrating at home, go to the nearby hill to watch the fireworks, then sleep, because the next day we go hiking.

Look Matej, I'm not forcing anyone to go celebrate New Year's Eve in the mountains, but you always know how to twist everything , I just nicely asked if anyone plans to go somewhere in the mountains for New Year's Eve. If not otherwise, I'll probably go to Uršlja gora again, where I was last year too, and I have to say we had a great time, no drunkenness, and the next day we climbed Peco too .

Well, if anyone's interested, they can also come to Lisco (947m) for New Year's Eve.
The price is 70€ and includes food and drinks (all inc.), there will also be live music and party until late morning hours. There's also option for overnight stay for 10€ per person. If anyone wants more info, I'm available on PM.

Otherwise, "shortened New Year's Eve" in the hills is quite popular too.
At least on Šmarna gora and practically all over Polhograjci, about half an hour or less before midnight, dozens to many people gather on almost all peaks (depending on access length). They come alone or in several small groups. There they wait for the new year, drink a mug of mulled wine from a thermos, wish each other well, and after watching the valley crackling with fireworks, head home.
I've tried this several times myself, of course it's over quickly, when you get home around two it's already quiet. Roads full of cardboard rocket casings, at some corner someone might still be staggering and from some apartments you can still hear racket, otherwise everything dead.
The day that begins is just a continuation of the same problems we have to solve all year.

@gmirko but you know what, some rocket can really fly there; if the next day I go up to Tamarja there's always some rocket casings on the ground. Take her to someone for pet sitting whom the doggy knows; it'll be better for her and you won't worry all the time where something might hit.

We celebrated NYE in Volkova hut on Nanos. Nice, homely and pleasant. At midnight we nicely wished each other, watched some fireworks and so until late night until we went to sleep (and slept long and well )
And price more than fair: dinner, sleep and breakfast: 45 Euros.

@Kriška: if you look from Razdrto upwards towards the towers on Nanos, then the hut is (approx) behind them, in the shelter of trees.
