Ogradi

Keber1, for tomorrow personally I think, due to today's rain up to 1700m and night's snowfall of 15-20cm on soaked and unfrozen ground, abandon the ascent. The walking is then quite slippery and dangerous, even with crampons and ice axe. Let the other mountaineers add some advice.

Thanks, after careful consideration I decided to attack the winter Ogradi another time, when it will be colder. I wanted now, when you can still somehow get to planina Blato by car.

Last year at about the same time I myself also canceled the ascent to Ogradi because of slippery wet snow. No problem keber1 but you can attack Lazovski preval, because due to little new snow there's no danger and it's also rocky and steep enough against slips, however nice tour. Orientation is easy, however in fog again tricky for descent.

Today I set off to Ogradi from Planina Blato. The world's most expensive road (regarding length and quality) is already being tolled diligently, this year too "symbolic" 10 euros, but it's in relatively poor condition, winter and floods didn't spare it. Crampons weren't needed, as the entire path across planina Laz was dry, except a couple small patches of snow in shady hollows. On Ogradi there's full of diverse alpine flowers, especially lots of auriculas. At the top there's neither stamp nor summit book - neither at the top cairn nor at the cross. Since I ordered dry weather, I wasn't wet, it poured only at the car.velik nasmeh

I returned via Krstenica and down the hunting path. The path from Laz to Krstenica is very poorly marked and unmaintained, as there are quite a few trees across the path, some obviously for many years. In the end I also got lost and ended up at the hunting hut below Krstenica. Either they mark and maintain the path well or abandon the marking so there's no confusion for those going there first time. The hunting path to Blato is for comparison in excellent condition, although not marked.

Today it was gorgeous up there and a whole lot of people can confirm that - there were unusually many visitors. Meadows are still fully in diverse flowers and the grass isn't grazed yet. From Blato we made a circular tour over Lazoviški pass, where the "path" is in good condition.

Nice photos of hikers who recently headed to the mountains showed nicely snow-covered peaks; judging by the descriptions, conditions for hiking are quite favorable.
Yesterday I went to check the winter idyll in the mountains myself. This time to Ogradi.
The road to planina Blato is of course impassable and the path must be started from the valley (Stare Fužine). To Vogar the path through the forest is mostly dry, higher where it levels out snow begins.
To planina Laz it was quite trampled, further towards Ogradi no one has gone yet. Snow luckily held well the whole way and I didn't need either crampons or snowshoes. Towards the top of Ogradi there's quite more snow than in Laz (approx. 30 cm powder that's blown around). I went along chamois tracks.
At the top I surprisingly found that a couple of days ago someone came up the north side, which is of course much steeper.
Back the same path.

From planina Blato we ascended towards Laz from where we admired its guardian Debeli vrh, then jumped to Ogradi. Sadly clouds overtook us to the top, but still we enjoyed the magnificent view. Planina v Laz is still waking up, yesterday they opened the hut on planina pri Jezeru.

Photos you can find at this link: From planina Blato to Ogradi.

Yesterday it was definitely worth taking advantage of the wonderful day in the mountains, so I dashed from pl.Blato via Laz to Ogradi. Let me add that the path is completely dry throughout, everything else was already a bit kitschy.

Why kitschy, I'd say be glad you spent such a nice day. When it rains and snows, you won't be able to go uphill.nasmeh
Good luck!

Hi hillwalkers,

wondering if anyone has been around Ogradi lately, especially the "hladilnik" gully, interested in conditions, is it dry...

thanks for info

Due to changeable weather today to the nearby Ogradi.
It was quite cold and very windy in the morning. Below the summit we already thought of turning back, but we decided to go to the top anyway.
Some clearing came eventually, the wind didn't let up, so we didn't stay long at the summit.

The flowers are quite damaged from recent hail. Only the plants that are just opening (there are fewer and fewer) are nicer.

With age, strength for the highest peaks diminishes a bit, so we choose Ogradi, which also offer the mountaineer everything his heart desires.
Yesterday we started from the full parking lot at Planina Blato, past the hut in Laz and continued to the top of Ogradi. Hail marks are still visible, especially on greenery. But there are still many flowers, we can say Ogradi are a blooming paradise. The path is quite steep, so without effort we don't reach the top, where beautiful views await.
Although it was morning, we enjoyed the shade.1

Yes, Ogradi ... three months no one wrote anything, and I don't know what to write, since Saturday was a wonderful day for the mountains, well of course early drive past the barrier to Planina Blatovelik nasmeh, then to Laz and Ogradi, where we stayed a whole hour at the top, completely alone, surrounded by magnificent peaks, then also to Planina Krstenica, which we experienced in all its beauty (three years ago we were there in the rain).
A day truly meant for everyone,...mežikanje

Really wonderful day on Saturday and nice circular tour from Blato to Planina pri jezeru and Planina Laz and Plazovski prelaz to Ogradi, back via the usual to Laz and the other to Blato.
Only a few of us lingered at the top. One would like to stay there.nasmeh
