On Friday I was on Turska gora and on return met lots of people heading to the hut.
Snow starts at the spring. Probably no issue for regular hikers.

It's been quite a while since the last post under Okrešelj topic.
Latest fresh experiences from this area - pure sadness.
Hut is indeed being built, works stalled, money ran out, EU contributed quite a lot of course.
Prestige being built - good we need that in our country too, mostly double rooms.
Path to Okrešelj - catastrophe, renovated years ago, now all in ruins. No words when you see it.

Yeah, that's how it is in SLO. Background is even more colorful, but let's leave it... Additionally with EU funds there'll be a problem when the investment is not finished on time, meaning return of EU funds.

On 31.7. during my visit there was still some activity. One even told me it would be finished soon.
How did money run out??? Did they actually spend money on something else?

jprim, can you maybe cite some source for this info - that EU contributed quite a lot and mostly double rooms being built? Haven't seen that anywhere yet.

Paths maintained by markacists voluntarily. Ok, they get lunch and fuel money, tools paid by club... all work in their free time, no daily rates. And it will get worse, fewer people willing to work for free... but more willing to criticize...
p.s. last time I hiked this path in winter, of course not fully dry... but didn't seem that bad at all. Obviously missed some earthquake in news that made path so catastrophic now.

No earthquake happened.
The path really isn't a stroll and isn't suitable for tourists in flip-flops, which we often meet.
Those of us who are often in the mountains, even on some "worse"
paths, it doesn't bother...

In that gully above the waterfall, trail maintenance is really not needed. The rest, above and below, is a path in the forest. I see no problem, although I haven't been there this year.

I also think the path is not that bad! It is worn out, as it is quite frequented under pressure from people and weather.

Exactly a year ago we went there three times and I don't remember any peculiarities; well maybe slippery stones from heavy traffic . So I fully agree with the predecessors. For those used to hiking in mountains it surely causes no problems, for walkers I recommend paths they are up to. About architectural achievements and consideration of conditions ruling this environment, as well as hikers' needs I wouldn't....

That's quite normal. Very rarely do you experience someone laughing at their own misfortune, clumsiness, folly etc.? Similar with gossip. Few people gossip about themselves. So @Jprim good will, wide smile and onwards.

Oh, I already have thick skin , so laughter at my expense - no issues.
I see trouble only in looking with both eyes, what I write I write as I think.
How I enjoy the mountains, - no more posting pics and no family album.
But I'm very glad that you follow me so well here.
