Yesterday we viewed the Peričnik waterfalls. The road to Koča pri Peričniku is snowy but passable. The waterfalls are rich in water and as always worth seeing.

Hi! I'm a Erasmus student who is actually studying in Ljubljana. I'm really into rockclimbing, hiking and so on. I've also ice climbed a couple of times in the Pyrinees.
The first two weeks of February some friends of mine will come to Slovenia to ice-climb. I'd like to know if there is any Facebook page regarding ice climbing conditions.
Hvaaaala!

I'm not aware of any such page. There are general forums and fb pages like this one. Users sometimes make posts about conditions on some ice routes but you'll have to ask around if you're interested in specific ones.

Since you're studying in Ljubljana you could contact University alpine section. They should give you some information or further contacts.

Yesterday for the first time during the day for winter viewing of the frozen Peričnik waterfallsnasmeh. Beauty that stuns you, you marvel, but at the same time you realize the transience of everything seen, as this world crumbles before your eyes and God forbid anything hits you. Shivers accompanied especially at the upper waterfall, whose viewing is anyway not allowed in winter. We hurried away from there, as broken ice stalactites lay everywhere.
I was surprised by such massive visitation of the waterfalls, so it's worth coming a bit earlier, although the sun bathes this world after 11 o'clock at this time.

We went up the road, returned along the footpath by Triglavska Bistrica, where icy views in the water captivate you.

Beautiful curtains of the frozen waterfall. It used to be like that and Christmas eve evenings still in lights. The stump on pic. 23 wasn't there either, on my last visit. Nice pictures..nasmeh

Is Peričnik perhaps still "frozen" with "candles" like in the upper pictures?

On Sunday it only had some ice and candles left, judging by the upper pics. In recent days it's cooled a bit again, but hasn't returned to the state from over a week ago for sure... nasmeh

Is the road to the hut drivable these days? Or up to where can one get by car? Thanks

Not right to Peričnik. About 3 km before the hut you need to park, where the traffic counter is, I think that part is called Ros.
