Yes, garmont, you're right. That much is paid.

Thanks for the explanation. Then it is definitely better to pay parking below and go by bus. Just worried if there is space at parking, going tomorrow midday. Anyone have experiences, esp. Senožeta?

Watch the bus schedule for weekdays. nasmeh
Given current weather (yesterday at Danica, Kobli, Kristal, lake), I think worst crowding is over, can park normally at Senožet too, esp. weekdays.

That mid-Aug weekend was extreme, campers everywhere, no space for cars. So no worry, prepare change for meter! 4 eur for 24h I think. If you put 6 eur in morning, lasts until next day afternoon. mežikanje

Caution. When talking about parking, I hope you all mean Senožeta and not the parking below the barrier.

Lately, the top was fully parked and you couldn't drive up the road. People left their cars below where it's 3 €/hour and went up by bus, but when they returned from the tour after 12 hours in the evening, the machine wanted 36 €.
So, park only in Senožetah, 4€/day

Of course, Senožeta.
In summer we park in Bohinj only at Kobla (always space and free, even for several days) and take the free bus (usually to the lake for swimming) or to Senožeta if going to Blato. We have already calculated how much time we need from home to one or the other parking lot, we have never been late. velik nasmeh

Hello, I accidentally spotted information about "on-call transport" from Ribčev Laz to the Vogar-Blato junction or back.

In the leaflet on Promet.Bohinj it says it runs three times a day approximately between 8am and 3pm.

Any experiences? Are "calls" possible only within the stated times? Maybe someone knows if you can summon this service later too (if, say, you arrive at Blato late evening or early morning). And of course, how much does it cost?

Thank you very much!

First you ask for info, but to share it yourself with others if anyone else is interested, that you don't. Hm...

It really pains me that due to my question two of the most reliable, expert and up-to-date info sharers on this forum are hurt: klovn and exwannabe. Forgive me, because I'll probably never fully understand your selfless contributions on hribi.net. To humbly make up for my reckless question, I humbly offer you at least what I found out about this transport: that the service is just unusable for my needs!

O great teachers: May the mountains be kind to you!

I don't even know why this road is closed, because "snow conditions" there probably haven't been for a whole month. I remember 2 years ago you could drive freely all winter to the top of the starting point. Nothing was closed.

Yup...in summer this road is pig-expensive, in winter when closed it's even pricier jezen
And if in summer you can somehow pay those 12€, besides there are alternative transport options too, but in winter this hourly fleecing is really tasteless. And yes, 2 years ago the barrier was open in winter, you got where you could. Now "for safety" they rather charge parking below.

Now, over the barrier it's no longer 12€/day, but 15 €/day

As long as hikers will hike or drive there it will stay like that. I certainly won't be there.

A few years ago there was a 40€ fine in Tamar if you drove to the hut. And we joked about four in the car and ski touring descent from Kotovo sedlo, saying 10€ per person is the same as a day's parking at Blato. Now there'll be a crowd below the ramp for Blato, everyone will want to take someone else up on the system ""if there are five of us it's only 3€ per head"" velik nasmehvelik nasmehvelik nasmehvelik nasmehvelik nasmeh

Bojan is right. For such busy spots you'll need to organize.nasmeh
After all it's not fair to others if you alone occupy space with your car where there's high traffic.
And how much is one-day parking in Ljubljana near Triple Bridge? That could be comparable to the most visited spots in the mountains.

Interesting how some are sensitive about parking fees.

I'll tell you where parking is actually the most expensive?
In front of the inn. There you stop for two hours after the tour and pay more than anywhere for parking. And that bothers no one, even though nobody forces you to park there like at Blato or in Ljubljana.

You're getting a bit boring with that Ljubljana. Let's be clear: 3 euros per hour isn't anywhere in Ljubljana.
