Planina Blato-toll

If it's useful to anyone, I just noticed that on their website they also mention: "Parking card: Friends of Bohinj" (https://promet.bohinj.si/parkiranje/placevanje-parkirne-kartice/)

This option is also quite expensive... you pay 150eur per year and then you have all parkings and the road to Blato for free. However, if you go to Bohinj really often (especially to Blato), it might slowly become worthwhile.

Is this card something new or was it already there in previous years?

You can't believe it. More expensive than the vignette. What all they come up with. I'm afraid others will imitate them. Or already do .... mrk pogled

mavi12, if the Bohinj folks read this, this swimming thing will be on the next municipal council meeting nasmeh
otherwise I'd gladly pay 150 eur- if the card applied to all parking lots and accesses in our Alps (Julian Alps, Karavanke, KSA)- but given the proverbial Slovenian mess we'll sooner lie behind the cypresses. By the way.. in the USA you pay for an annual pass for 400+ national parks 80 usd which covers the whole car..and even two owners can have it..(so basically 40 usd per car) in the parks themselves they don't charge parking even at the most famous spots, only visitor limits for the most vulnerable or burdened areas- In short- they regulate visitor flow with certain limits and not by jacking up entrance fees, parking and who knows what else under the pretext of protection. That's all about those ugly capitalist s...s

"Friends of Bohinj"...150€...oh god. They could as well call it friends of the Bohinj budget zmeden

Compared to the prices of annual cards elsewhere (@Daaam already described one example well) this is really a mockery...

So, non-friends of Bohinj, for that price in Austrian Styria and Carinthia we get not only tolls on some mountain roads, but also some:
- cable car rides
- river boat trips
- museum visits
- mine and cave tours
- breweries, distilleries..eek
- swimming pools
- etc.
And when some of that is included in the Bohinj card, the price will be accessible to everyone...zmedenvelik nasmeh

With those barriers, pink signs for parking payment THEY have driven away tourists and locals, I go several times in the afternoon to Gorenjska on the old road and notice that some inns are 3/4 empty and right there near where you have to pay parking. Looks like the icing on the cake are the wardens who stick tickets on car windows. Well, they ruined tourism but you can't write or talk about it more widelyzavijanje z očmi. People rather go where there are no tolls, parking fees and inns are full too.velik nasmeh

You're just complaining - in the end we all drive up anyway. Parking at Blato is completely full in summer and it happens that the ramp doesn't even open if you're late.

Bohinj folks are rip-offs, but they're not fools to charge less if there are enough willing to pay.

They could really go a bit towards local hikers and have say off-season - half tariff. But that can't be helped, as we know: "everyone for themselves, Bohinec with the drill"

That three-tier parking lot in Stara Fužina is mostly empty off-season. But yeah, it's still better to rip someone off here and there.

You guys are really interesting with this whining. And as korl wrote, you still fill up the parking space as if you couldn't go anywhere else.
Even in Maribor they've raised the most visited parking to 1.7 euros per hour. And what can you see for that money compared to Blato?nasmeh
They'll raise prices as long as there's traffic. Definitely.
Otherwise they're working with these electric cars so that soon you won't be able to go far from home anymore.
Good thing mushrooms are nearby.nasmeh

Yeah, in this article a new term was used for such behavior.
Bohinjci "plough new ground". I didn't know fleecing is called that.

Where they know how to charge parking lots.... There are few tourists, locals, Slovenians too. Some just can't wait to take pics of quasi-occupancy; they probably wait for days. What, do they sit, bivouac nearby and watch when it'll be at least 3/4 full so they can later report how tourism is booming and bursting at the seams? Who are you fooling with these lies when I drive alone on the old road because I have no vignette and don't want one? I love old roads and see how tourism is tanking here. Sometimes it looks like a horror flick when practically almost nowhere there's anyone.zavijanje z očmi

Bohinjci by today's standards are just "successful and innovative"...like those "successful entrepreneurs" who often don't pay taxes, don't pay workers, hide in tax havens... Yeah the morality of not paying workers and ripping off with such parking fees is quite similar...

20€... comedy. As if it were some road where you drive 1h and get to the trailhead at 2000m.

Next year it'll be 40€????

Many times I've gone from Planina Blato on mountain tours, and paid parking too, though not as high as written. Now I rather go across the border, not because of parking fee, there is one there too, but fewer crowds and more solitary paths.

Why foreigners?
If we look at our car fleet on the parking lots under the hills, I don't have even the slightest feeling that visitors couldn't do without these 20 euros 1x or 2x a year, even though it's pricey. The locals we besiege know this well. More than 1x or 2x a year (and that's already too much), it's not even fair to the others to hang around there if there's a big crowd.
Nothing's wrong with going often to places where there's no crush. We'll have to get used to it sooner or later.

Ten years ago I wasn't even a little worried that I couldn't get to the starting point or that the starting point would be unreasonably expensive (or closed). Instead of adapting to mass visits and promotions, they started raising prices to the skies to make a selection with that.(how dumb do you have to be to pay 15€/day for the upper parking and 3€/h below?)..so that the upper part gets clogged, when it's already more critical for locals. The car fleet isn't a measure since you don't see those who can't afford it. Afford parking to go hiking?!? Personally, I think that's very bad. But look at Pokljuka... Visits have also increased exceptionally there and I have the feeling that they followed it or are trying to follow. Parking has been nicely arranged, expanded and charged at normal rates...Let the crowd be the reason why we don't go there often, not the parking price. nasmeh

Dprapr, you gave an excellent idea for reducing crowds at the starts of mountain trails. We could be solidary to our dear guests from abroad. To reduce crowds at popular spots, we could start visiting those spots around mid-September, when parking fees would also be lower. Our esteemed guests from abroad would be thrilled by this gesture, and we'd save on parking. In short, a very cheap solution. And we could say the wolf is full, the goat is whole. nasmeh
And we greens also welcome every reduction in the carbon burden on the environment! velik nasmeh
