Uh, super for this answer, because one option was also a loop - is winter gear still needed from Škarij?

That part of the trail visible from Srebrno sedlo (from Lučka Baba onwards) has some snow patches that were trampled and slope is gentle there (snow patches where you descend from Lučka Baba and cross westwards). For ascent from Škarij to Lučka Baba don't know, wasn't visible from here. Maybe good to take ice axe just in case... nasmeh

Best ask someone who was on Ojstrica these days and saw snow conditions from that side too.
Picture from Ojstrica towards Planjava (from user @redbull), if it helps you1

I was on Saturday on Ojstrica via Kopinski, then over Babe to Planjava and the trail is dry all the way, except at a couple of spots there are snow patches that are passable without crampons, but I had an ice axe just in case and it came in handy. But I have to say that the markings are a bigger problem than the snow patches, very poorly visible or gone altogether and orientation is quite demanding.

Thanks for the description of the conditions, we'll be careful.

Hunter's hut at Brežiči-Deska-Tolsti vrh-Korošica-Srebrno sedlo-Planjava and back via Vodotočno jezero.
Towards the summit of Planjava there was some little snow, almost not worth mentioning.

Today I was on Planjava from Kamniška Bistrica. The trail is fully passable. No winter gear needed. The same also applies to Turska gora from Kamniško sedlo. Good luck nasmeh

On Saturday, July 4th, I headed to Planjava through Repov kot. Initially no such plan, I decided later already en route to Kamniško sedlo. Would go to Brana but a bit short tour, through gully Za Vratam was wet in the morning and so the decision to go through Repov kot and descend from the summit to Kamniško sedlo.

Lp! Tonenasmeh

Please help!
The plan is Planjava as a two-day trip. Start from Kamniška Bistrica or Kraljev hrib, up to Kamniško sedlo then to Planjava summit. Now the question - planning overnight at Kocbekov dom (day 2 to Konj and Rzenik), which route is better recommended - descend directly from Planjava (heard it is called via srebrno sedlo and through Britof), or better via Lučka Baba and Škarij? Fitness no issue, which is time shorter, but also more interesting and difficulty.
Thanks!

The easier and faster route is surely over srebrno sedlo.
The more interesting one over škarje.

Saturday loop to Planjava. Start from Kocbekov dom to Srebrno sedlo to Planjava, back via Lučka Brana (baba), Škarje to Kocbekov dom. As GričarA wrote, the route via Škarje is really more interesting, varied and scenic.

I also congratulate the team for a nice ascent through unmarked wild terrain. But any tour without a description of the ascent route, as I do in my albums, doesn't help the viewer or potential repeater. The title alone just says you were on Planjava.

09.08.2015. Planjava

Left car at Kraljev hrib and walked to Kamniška Bistrica. Here quick to lower station of cargo cableway. That part quite steep. Then annoying boring traverse to Klin and ascent to Studenca. On to Pastirji where I took time for rest and on. No forest anymore, lucky shower blocked sun through scrub and many switchbacks to Kamniško sedlo. There quick radler and new liquid supply and quick to Planjava. Bit of pulling on pegs and cables, over Sukalnik and finally summit. This is now the highest peak I have conquered.
It got late... planned descent over baba and škarje but due to fatigue and darkness descended via Srebrno sedlo and Britof to Kocbekov dom where I slept.
Second day Konj... but that description elsewhere.

Planjava is now the highest peak I have conquered. That feat is the highest altitude I have mastered - from start (540m) to top (2392) about 1850m... To summit with short breaks five and a half hours... To Korošica a bit over two.

Question - is this marked Planjava summit also its highest?
