I'm also against removal but given what they do with it, I'm increasingly leaning towards replacing it with a replica. Then let them do whatever they want with it. The idea from @keber1 isn't bad either!

mountain lover, thanks for the forwarded pictures. congratulations also to all participants of this generous action, I think there should be more of us who would help in such actions in any way, not just write comments about what should be done. I wish everyone a nice and clear view from the top of Triglav.

What does this have to do with it now? if the guys aren't lying big time and they'll "put in" a replica, then I really don't see a problem in taking it to the valley for a couple weeks for "polishing". Nothing bad.. and plus a chance for unique photos from the top of daddy for all instagram fans

In the first years when they didn't predict well how the material would hold up, serious renovations (i.e. frame replacements) were quite frequent. Question how many parts are still really original from 1895. Some say 30%, but no one really knows. The symbol will live on, the frame will be newer. Otherwise, exposed out in the open that high up, it won't hold. But it's a unique opportunity to go up when the tower won't be there. It tempts me to pop up after a few years.
