It's already like that in this vast world, that we are not a source of pride for our great poet, but we have good will and some modest wishes, to write from the heart to all mountain lovers. This is not poetry for learning, just a note on how beautiful life is, because memory fades too quickly, the verse is written when it comes to mind.

mountains are crazy just like quite mad those on them climbing and singing these beautiful verses and listening to terrible cries of effort which the crazy mountain ground does.

Rain falls, says nothing snow melts, soon it will puff away mountains dress in snowy blanket long will winter be in the heights. Soon I'll go crazy bad weather makes me gray hairs no sunshine shamelessly hides behind clouds. Crampons, ice axe gathering dust time will come when I'll gnaw my knees, sunshine will warm me and I'll be happy. At the top enjoyed beauties breathed fresh air and had an unforgettable time. Summer will knock on the door mountains will be more and more grayish snow less and less soon time will come when I'll warm on rocks and rest among flowers. Summer chases winter from mountains time has come when happily I'll climb secured walls fear will grip me since in the past I challenged death. There above valleys, in heights among larches, I lie in tall grass and think only about how wonderful it is. Sun warms me, soon it will say goodbye, time to go, with headlamp, cold presses, only the path leads me to valley. @Karahawk: See, it doesn't work for me

Mountain lover finally admits, that rhyme is foreign to him,... like reading the Brothers Grimm. Meaning of poetry is not just string of words, doesn't know how to write them, certainly not all-knowing.

Well, we must admit that mountain lover has tried hard and presented in form of "poetic prose" all feelings and fears that overwhelm him among mountains. Nicely written.

@LG, don't mind the criticisms, just continue. From petty, argumentative, angry little kid you're developing into a real boy.

Today unfortunately prevails the opinion that culture and art are something that only a handful of privileged can produce (who now even have their own ministry again). Of course it's clear that they like this opinion and exploit it profitably. Preferably in material form although culture and art should be without material value. And people fall for this fable: immensely satisfied that they can be there when such magnificent things happen and pretend that they were immensely moved by all they were allowed to experience from respectful distance. When I was still traveling with Interrail around Europe I stopped in Stuttgart about 15-20 years ago. In the local modern gallery among others I saw artwork titled 'Four white canvases'. Actually four white canvases were in front of me! Now I understand the point: artist brought today's art to absurdity! Yes, you admire ordinary canvases! Because it's in the gallery! Because you were told that everything in galleries and museums is art even if it has no value! So we can sell you as art also - nothing! Interesting that no one here has done something like that yet. To tell people to their face that they sell us 'white canvases'! For a person who doesn't care much about others' opinions and acts more or less independently in life, real culture is what he creates himself: way of life, how he eats, drinks, loves, enjoys free time... Art and culture for him is not something others produce and he can enjoy only from respectful distance. If he engages in some art, that's also HIS culture. After all many artists were unrecognized during lifetime because they didn't submit to general standards of culture and art valid at that time, but recognized after death. Prešeren and Mozart are just two of them.

VanSims you really can't get out of your skin. Who tells you that you have to read what others write who in your opinion can't measure up to your creations. As the saying goes: live and let live. If you can't write something encouraging, positive.... save the effort so we won't have even worse opinion of you than most already have.

@tisa: I must disappoint you. I don't write poetry nor engage in any other art. Perhaps you? If you found yourself in my writing I apologize. It was purely coincidental and please don't take it personally.

Tisa, where do you get that most of us have a bad opinion of VanSims? Because I think you didn't even understand the meaning of VanSims's message, I advise you in the future not to talk about others' opinions, but only about your own.

Simon is a great mountain lover and good guy, as much (somewhat) as I know him. I have quite a good opinion of him. His thoughts aren't even wrong. Anyway, it was meant that in this thread stupid, childish poetry would be written and criticisms are welcome too, of course not too rude ones. We like Simon we are crazy young guys. profoundly thinks and senselessly makes sense. not artist not poet and gives us flight. Enough days may he live as he lived until now.

LG: of course you're good at it! I mean creating in "kuclerjan" style, without meaningful connected words and with enhanced drawn-out talk. This style of poetry is nice too, in its own way of course. Just keep going, I read you with pleasure.

You damned cold, I'm not rich with health anyway, now this plague too, good that my head obeys me, so I write verses for myself, I erase the thought of illness from my head. Darling of course takes care of me, knows what a sick body needs. When the mountain comes into play, my health will be solid again.

A person is in a much better mood, when the sun shines on the field, now it's already high time for greenery to become nature's decoration. Winter has cooled us for a long time, spring will fully occupy people, some on fields or gardens, others on nearby peaks. We have different lives, may love and happiness be similar for us, we'll have it nicer if we understand others in our hearts.

Another spring one Sun rises higher every day, daytime defeats nighttime time-wise. Roosters crow louder, hens cackle more often. Birds weave nests, ducks promise themselves colorful ducklings. Kittens meow louder, since cats don't strike yet. Such is our life, in spring longing awakens. Of course it pulls us to the mountain world, to embrace beloved nature.
