The road to [the] abandoned barracks [is] clear, otherwise around half a meter [of] snow in Zajzera. To [the] Koča Grego they went with snowshoes, without [them it would be] hard, further to [the] Poldašnja summit no predecessor tracks, but at Rudni vrh saddle [a] good meter [of] snow. Currently possible only with skis or snowshoes.

Igor, tell me, did a small avalanche accidentally detach in photo no.5? Something looks [to be] under your ski! Otherwise always nice pics and good comment. Take care and safe steps I wish you!

Nothing detached, but I cleaned the gully myself before skiing to see the rocks better

I'm wondering how a person intentionally triggers an avalanche. Twice something small slid on me unintentionally, it'd be good to know how and what.

About triggering avalanches, they could tell something on Kanin where they've artificially triggered them for almost 40 years, and elsewhere. Well I didn't have Gazex with me, nor dynamite. But I crust-skied a bit with skis and the pushed snow then slid taking the top layer with it. In spring when you wanna get rid of annoying "rottenness" you just cut the bad layer with skis and then skiing is much safer. Of course don't play with that cuz it can quickly sweep you away with the avalanche. Otherwise Poldašnja Peak is fairly safe even soon after snowing, of course only to the bivvy, for the summit you gotta know and assess conditions well.

Path to Grego hut was trampled, further too but less so, from bivvy onwards also walked, one even tried twice . Good conditions. Down I went partly on eastern ridge, then lower traverse back to bivvy and on abandoned unmaintained mule track to Rudni vrh pasture, past little lake to hut and valley.

Wondering if it's possible to descend to Zajzera via that V ridge??? Tried once in summer but turned back to the traverse...

I once went up behind the barracks and somehow got to those ruins, it wasn't exactly for singing , once I also went down but had quite some trouble because I ended up above some cliffs and had to turn back twice, in the end picked about 3 kg of October boletes and came down to the screes by the bridge in Zajzera : I saw some ski tracks, were they yours Above the ruins a path branches off to Zita chapel and Ovcja vas, and there's also a hunter's path leading to Fuart hut or bar by the cross-country track, but I still need to explore that

The path from Zajzera past Grego hut and on to Bivacco Gemona is well trodden. Further to the summit no ascent issues. At least from bivouac to summit crampons and ice axe recommended.

On Saturday we climbed to the summit from Zajzera valley past Grego hut. Passage of crumbly gully below summit officially closed. Young Italians who turned before gully informed us it's closed. We continued on traverse path to southeast ridge. To summit via path from Ovcja vas.
