Before Ratitovec I also headed to Porezen to check the conditions. I set off from Davča along the hunting trail across the alpine pasture to the summit. The trail is completely dry overall, only on the top there are still some small patches of snow. I didn't get any views because the summit was enveloped in fog, on the trail there's lots of water and especially mud.

Yesterday we went to Porezen, almost no snow, only in front of the hut, path from Petrov Brdo is great, suitable for families with small kids. On top a little wind, so tea in the hut was just right for us, now open on weekends, friendly warden Mr Aleksander told us. Vesna

Which trail do you recommend for ascent to Porezen? Trail length 2-3h.

Besides the trail descriptions you have on this page, check also the description at http://www.zaplana.net/ P.S. The described trail from Davča across the pasture to Porezen summit is also suitable for kids. LP Andrej

With Borut we ascended from Davča via hunting trail across pasture to Porezen summit. Trail well trodden, easy to follow and firm. Put on crampons above pasture for ridge ascent. On top dead calm, wonderful views. For descent went past hut straight into valley through sparse beech forest, gave the tour special touch. LP Andrej

Today again nice sunny day. Went to Porezen from Davča where right by road sign to summit. Car left at first farm. Trail initially gentle across meadows pastures streams slight descent to forest then steep ascent straight to ridge. Morning not yet trodden but track which I lost bit before ridge On ridge sometimes very cold strong wind but view so wonderful didn't matter

I don't know cause I went from Poč but I assume all are normally passable. From Poč more than half the path is without snow. Only when you reach the ridge it starts. Snow is dry and might get trampled tomorrow when more people come.

Today it was a wonderful day at the top, quite a few people. We went from Davča and the path is ok, but in the afternoon it was already quite slippery.

So today Porezen, start from Davča village with three regulars (L., G. and R.) and two Himalayans (A. and M.) then along the marked path to the top with solid views, beer fell from the backpack too, perfect. Down the circular path past the hut then right down the snowfield. Snow quite wet, only "obstacle". Short trip, I recommend.

Mosaic coming together, yesterday Porezen. Start at Cerkno museum over Poče on gentle path to top, to hut which is open where we can cool beer in snow (1m), otherwise path dry. Back steep path to museum where Franja hospital stamp too. Total with stops 5h, not fast pace.

Yesterday, Saturday 27.06, Johan and I were on Porezen. Went from Davča through forest shortcut, back along road under Cimprovka. Weather bit of everything but nice. New caretakers, food excellent, recommend to all. Pasture below Porezen has great sour milk.
