I was just at 18h reading on MMC that there's a fire on Porezen and airtractors are involved. And I was extremely surprised: how, when, where?!?eek
Because we started from PB at 8:15h and returned to the starting point at 14h. And neither on the path nor on the summit (2.5h) anywhere a sign of anything.
Keeping fingers crossed that it all ends successfully. But really all the slopes are like steppe: dry meadows!zadrega

Our path doesn't go over soft grass. It's a mountain trail with numerous rocks. But it leads uphill towards the sun. (Ruth Wasthaimer) We had to leave home early to catch the 5:25 train from Nova Gorica to Podbrdo. It was on time. We started walking a few minutes before seven still in the dark. Then it quickly became a nice day. Part of the path we went straight up the slope. It was muddy. We reached a known path higher up. The summit wasn't far anymore. It was windy. We didn't stay long. We found a somewhat sheltered corner. We descended via another path. The one we usually take up when there's snow. We arrived at the station on time. The tour wasn't short. 17 km and 1100 m elevation shown by the watch.

Porezen from Davča along the forest track I reach below the summit of Hoča, continue on the marked path and there find the entrance to the bunker. Not the one above the hut. Haven't been in this one yet, there are long tunnels and I didn't see all. On the ridge windy, cold, over the hood I started shivering so didn't stay long on the summit either. Descent over meadows and forest back to Davča.

Exceptional visibility allowed clear views to the horizon yesterday, which is not common even in winter....

still, after testing many mobile apps, the best for me is https://www.udeuschle.de/panoramas/makepanoramas_en.htm
I identify most peaks this way easily only at home on PC. Without glasses at my age on mobile and in the field it doesn't work, which isn't practical and I'd need binoculars too for viewing peaks.... Sadly the peak database in Slovenia is poor compared to Italy or Austria.... !?
