Today via Hanzova to Prisojnik. Apart from the snow patch, no other peculiarities. There's also a smaller snow patch on the path, but it poses no obstacle. Returned via the southern path and lost my hat. If anyone finds it, please send a PM. lp

Yesterday up and down the ridge... hoped for sunset but... Well, the fog even cleared for a momentjezik Path without peculiarities.
At 18:30 it was nicely visible from the top of Vršič1

Quite a few of them along the path3

At 2200 the fog started to keep me company5
But for a moment the ridge towards Mojstrovke and Jalovec appeared6
And finally also Razor and Triglav....and those two little peaks of Kanjavec7
It didn't last long...but there was something to see8
There were also some sun rays towards Skrlatica9

@digi - are there steps cut on the snowfield or do you need crampons mandatorily besides the ice axe (Hanzova to Prisank)? Thanks!

colleague was on Kopiščarjeva yesterday, three pitons are out, cables replaced with rope, says no panic and doable without issue..

Kopiščarjeva needs above all COLORS, a few kilos of red and white velik nasmeh. Crowd of foreign *mountaineers* like lost sheep searching for path continuation at some spots, which calls for it. Even some locals get confused zavijanje z očmi.

Protections at critical points currently undamaged anywhere (status 24.07.2016). At non-critical spots some damage, but a meter of steel cable and clamps would restore the path condition as I've seen for years. No snow, no loose rocks or collapses visible.

However the path is OFFICIALLY CLOSED!

Maybe a thorough renovation is being prepared, which this beauty surely deserves nasmeh.

Rarely does a year go by that I forget it, and this mountain is my staple. I prefer starting from the Gozd hut, so I'm nicely showered right at the startnasmeh. As yesterday was a workday, I didn't expect much traffic (falling rocks); I overtook only an older gentleman and a bit higher a young family. From the south side, of course, there were many more visitors. Protections (Hanzova path) damaged at four spots, but nowhere so badly as to hinder progress. But I ran into the largest snow patch in years, hard of course, so without gear you won't get over it this year even in the fall.
Since they were already there - I visited a few more peaks, as the weather conditions were ideal.

Next Monday, if the weather is nice, I'd gladly go to Prisojnik for the first time in my life. I'm curious where that snow patch you mention is and which path to take to avoid it.

If you couldn't figure from the post which path "lijaneja" used, then don't push to Prisojnik. Hang out in the mountain list section and read more about Prisojnik............then it'll be clearer, plenty of info. No offense.zavijanje z očmi

lijaneja describes Hanzova path, which starts at the Gozd hut; snow patch there. You also have Kopiščarjeva path, or the window path, which is officially closed though still used. To Prisojnik there is also the ridge path and the south path; the south approach is the easiest. LP.

I clearly wrote that I've never been to Prisojnik, so I'm also asking for clarification where that snow patch is.
Am I really asking too much? I'll be even more specific: I'd like to climb this beautiful mountain via the Slovenian or ridge path. Is that snow patch located anywhere on the mentioned paths? To you my question seems funny and unnecessary, to me, who has never been to Prisojnik, I really want to go, no.

On Hanzova it's a larger mass of snow that Anton mentioned (Snow patch).
Yesterday, 9.8. dad was on that path and snow is hard. If you ask about such things then you have no clue what's awaiting you. Bypass is barely possible unless you're "Maher"winking. All other paths are dry

Ha ha, @maks57, I see I've slept through quite a nice debate.
Prisank is a mountain that has many faces. From the very easy southern path from Vršič, to demanding northern approaches and if weather doesn't cooperate, this mountain can remain in very bad memory. As a beginner, I suggest to you the mentioned sunny approach, descend via ridge path, which is at least one category more demanding than the approach.
That ¨snow patch¨ forget for now, you'll head there when you have enough mileage.

about the snow patch I asked and requested clarification because I got scared of it, since I know how dangerous a slip on such snow can be.
Thanks once more for the explanation! I think I'll choose the southern one, although the ridge path is tempting too.

"maks57" - if you're skilled at climbing pegs, brackets and cable, you can head via Kopiščarjeva, which is no longer closed. When you look through window to Trenta side, continue along ridge to summit. Descend via southern path which at start is nasty-full of scree, but continuation nice, or return via ridge. If you think Kopiščarjeva too much for you, suggest up ridge past first-front window and descent southern. Snow talked about is solely on Hanzova above waterfall and there winter gear needed for some time. Good luck.

Definitely not yet skilled at climbing. The only real ferrata so far I did last month on Mali Mojstrovka. More seriously hiking with wife only since 2012, so all mountain-related we take slowly, mainly we like going on trip with someone who knows it or has been there. Great help often friends who already have whole Slovenian Mountain Trail behind them.
