Already in spring Žlahtnik promised me he would show me the path to this window. But he is too busy with house adaptation, so yesterday I tried alone. Already in June I was asking at Račnik where it is, but even the old mother didn't know. The southern face of Raduha is quite vast, so searching like finding a needle in a haystack. I headed along the ridge towards Tolsta peč. The higher I was, the better views offered themselves, but no sign of the window. But at one scenic point I spotted it at same height, well hidden from eyes. Quickly realized I can reach it only by returning much lower. Crossing there impossible. While descending first time happened what one least wants in mountains, slip. Luckily on almost flat part. For me osteoporosis guy even that enough to break some ribs. Again need couple weeks rest. And just in autumn when mountains most beautiful for me. Of course abandoned ascent to window, pains too severe, valley already far. Despite that, though with bit of bad luck, spent another nice afternoon in mountains.

Yes, slip is something that happens first in the mountains. Luck that it happened to you in such a place that you didn't slide away...
yes, recover asap!! Some Sunday morning I'll check your yard if all chamois are still accounted for..

Ivan, nice photos you made . Looks like yesterday more of us viewing windows in mountains. I was at Olševa and feel there more windows besides known visited ones. Need to explore bit more in summer.

I also hesitated for some time to find these gates. Everyone said they were hard to find, then I printed pictures of the description and with the text found them without much wandering. Interestingly on the return, when I was sure I couldn't get lost, it happened but with little effort I found the right path to Rogovilec.

On Friday afternoon my husband and I also climbed up to Račka Gates.
We mostly followed Janez's route description, above Rački hut we turned right too early, crossed the forest and rocky screes and then climbed up one to the gates.
Anyway we found them and they really are magnificent these gates, the views from the arch are of course wonderful.
Thanks Janez for the really precise route description and of course the exploration.
A hunting trail leads further through the gates, but we didn't explore it due to the late hour. We returned approximately the same way back.

Today 18.11. from Rogovilec to Račka Gates and from Račka Gates along the ridge to Raduha. From Račka Gates there is wonderful climbing along the ridge which does not exceed II. and ends at M.Rt 1975m. The whole way to the marked path from Snežna jama you strictly follow the ridge.

I think you climbed "Gamsje sledi", which join Herletova path below the summit.

@strikan, I'm glad you posted these shots. With this description you've really made me "lušte"! At the first opportunity, I need to visit this tempting "trail"!
Already years ago it seemed to me that we neglect "the big one" for Mala Raduha!

Garmont, from Račka Gates we went along the ridge, don't know what it's called, because we assumed maybe we can get to Raduha; otherwise we would return back to Račka Gates because we were without rope, so I went ahead and looked for passages over II; we wouldn't go because after III it's already dangerous to descend without gear. When I found the passage I called companions to come after me. Now also question to Dragotu: how is the ridge over Dimniki to Rjavina; we haven't traversed it yet, maybe next year. What difficulty so we know what to take along. Drago, I assume your surname is Praprotnik; are you from around Ormož?
