Altemaver (Ratitovec)

Some yesterday's impressions from a nice circular path starting-Jesenovec.
From starting point continue to Kosmati vrh and on to Gladki vrh and Altemaver.Back via planina Pečana and planina Klom to starting point.On the path there was some snow, which doesn't pose problems on the path.Weather wonderful, views even better.

Hi. From Prtovč path over Razor super trodden, need small chains though as it's smart to use them several times. Hut open permanently until incl. 4.1.26. Lp

Well-visited low hills are usually trodden already during snowfall or soon after, so don't fear being first. But angry at ugly Slovenian habit that every pathlet is soon densely yellow-marked. jezen

Well, Ratitovec isn't exactly a low hill, with height over 1600 m it ranks in the mid-mountains and can be quite demanding in winter conditions. True, it has lots of visitors every weekend, Prtovč parking is almost always full, so after snowfall both paths over Povden and Razor are quickly trampled and trodden. So boldly on the trail, the flanks are really divine nasmeh

11.1.2026 -> Železniki - Ratitovec
First part of steep path through forest has very little snow, a bit more then to Draboslovica and on to Prtovč. First time walked this part of the path, which is quite steep, but I really like it. Over this part (from Železniki to Prtovč) maybe two pairs of feet went, so some tracks were there. From Prtovč on, of course "highway". No ice, crampons stayed in backpack.
