Has anyone been to Ratitovec these days? What's the road to Prtovč like? I already have summer tires and the path to the top? Is it trodden or sinking? Thanks

We were on Ratitovec with friends on Sunday. The road to Prtovč was dry. We went to the top via the path over Povden pass. Only from there onwards a bit more snow. The path is trodden all the way to the top, but a small avalanche "greeted" us on the way, most of the path from Povden pass to the hut shows traces of small avalanches (probably due to higher temperatures). We returned via the other (northern or eastern) side, where there's significantly more snow.

Then it should go without problems, thanks.

Today I did a trip to Ratitovec from Zalog Log. Half of the path is quite steep. At the beginning the path is muddy, but when it joins the path from Prtovč and from Torka the conditions improve. On the way to the top there are still some snow patches, which will melt in a few days. The path is almost entirely dry, only on Gladki vrh there's still a snow cap. It was quite windy on top, views of the Julian Alps were very nice.

After a longer time yesterday back a bit in the hills, so the path warmed me up nicely. Path from Povden on some parts quite muddy, but overall dry. Although sun was promised, it hid quite a bit behind clouds, some of which were threateningly dark. On top it was windy and cold, views of Julian Alps, Karavanke and Kamnik-Savinja Alps were wonderful. Those parts were more sunlit than I got.

Over Razor the path is snowy and since they slide down channels form. A little carelessness and your leg can go in. But the snow is soft, so if you climb carefully and slowly no big problems. Our six-year-old made it to the top hand in hand normally. Easier up than down though.

Today I was at the top. From Zalega Loga over Povdna to the hut the path is dry. Only from the hut to Altemaverja there are still some snow patches.

Hi, today after a long time I went to Ratitovec again and it was very nice. Only on top it got a bit foggy and looked like rain but luckily there was none. LP

Today I was to the top of Ratitovec and an accident happened to me, cows attacked my dog and he ran away we didn't find him anymore. He's a young Cocker Spaniel brown color named Ajla. If anyone sees him please report on the forum. P.S. Possible that he's dragging a BLUE leash.

I'd still wait for him, no chance to go home without doggy. Lots of luck, hope it gets found!

Hello, I see some of you go into the hills in winter time with touring skis. I currently ski only on alpine skis, but would like to try touring skis, mainly I'd like to borrow gear for the start or maybe buy used - does anyone know someone who sells or rents such!? Thanks for any help and advice and stay safe in the mountains.

Nice greeting. Maybe someone knows where I can get a map of Škofjeloško hribovje, at the mountaineering association of Slovenia they don't have it.
