Almost a year after traversing the Bavški Pihavci ridge, I park in Bavšica again. I shoulder the heavy backpack and start just before six. A little above the Logje hamlet, where the path crosses the rocky slide, I turn left uphill. I am looking for a path I don't know if it still exists. Several times I catch it but it soon disappears again. So I continue on my own towards the Slapce area. Below the walls I turn left and cross overgrown slopes. Walking on slippery grass is quite strenuous. When the world opens up uphill, I head uphill again. I climb to the lower edge of Velika Rupa. There I spot a passable gully, up which I ascend to the Kobila ridge. It leads me to Vrh Krnice, where at nine I am already enjoying the views. After a break, I gear up for continuing. The first part of the traverse to Briceljka is absolute pleasure, wonderful "airy" ridge walking. Below the Oblice summit, a rope surprises me that wasn't there on my first visit. But there is no prusik where it is really welcome - on the descent from one of the towers over the smooth belly. I connect two of my prusiks and I am across. At Briceljka it is time for the first snack and scouting the continuation. At eleven I start descending towards the notch below Morežev stražar. I follow the description of Marjana and Marko and nicely find the passages even in the part where the ridge breaks. Below the stražar I cross to the right and steeply up, then in one of the airiest parts of the tour I climb to the notch and via the ledge on the Koritnica side I reach somewhat easier terrain. I also step onto the stražar summit, where I build a cairn. Ahead to Morež it goes nicely, and further to the other side the passages along and on the ridge open up by themselves. Soon I am at the "branch" for Votli vrh. I find the right passage and climb to the notch and then to the summit. The descent to the notch seemed to me the hardest part of the tour, as you climb quite concretely on the descent. Follows return to the ridge and continuation to Mali Bedinji vrh, from it straight ahead to Konjska škrbina and back towards the sky to Bedinji vrh. During the descent human voices surprise me and soon I spot a team ascending from the opposite direction. The continuation is somewhat easier, but still not easy, as the legs are already tired from all the ascents and descents. The last detail on the tour is the descent from Bavh, as the ridge is still quite sharp, but good passages are found here too. I reach Plešivec at three, satisfied and tired. The descent through Balo is really pleasant, especially lower in the forest the path is really nice. But avalanches have done damage here too. On the path fallen trees lie in several places, but no serious bushwhacking through branches is needed. I finish the tour after good eleven hours satisfied and with the great ridge in my pocket.
Technically, it seems to me one grade easier than the neighboring Pihavci, but physically very demanding, as the ridge is really long and the second half quite undulating, so a nice number of elevation gains accumulate. In any case, a beautiful traverse worth repeating.
